Chapter Two Seven Dreams, One Road The first time the seven boys met, none of them knew they were looking at the beginning of something that would change their lives forever. There was no dramatic music. No bright lights. No crowd cheering. No sign from heaven telling them that they had just met the people who would become their family. It was an ordinary day. And sometimes the most important moments in our lives arrive looking completely ordinary. Namjoon stood outside the building with his hands buried inside the pockets of his jacket. He was nervous. He hated admitting that. He had always believed that if you wanted something badly enough, you simply had to work harder. But wanting something and actually getting it were two very different things. He looked at the building in front of him. This was where he had been told to go. This was where his next opportunity might begin. Or end. He took a deep breath. “Just go inside.” He opened the door. And nearly walked straight into someone. “Sorry!” Namjoon stepped backward. The young man in front of him stared. Then smiled. “It's okay.” Namjoon nodded. “I'm Namjoon.” The other boy hesitated. “Seokjin.” They stood there awkwardly. Then Seokjin smiled again. “Are you here for the audition?” Namjoon nodded. “So are you?” “Yes.” Neither of them knew what to say next. Then Seokjin looked at him. “You look nervous.” Namjoon laughed. “So do you.” “I am not nervous.” “You just said you were.” “I didn't.” “You did.” Seokjin smiled. “Maybe a little.” For the first time that day, Namjoon laughed. Neither of them knew it yet, but that small conversation was the beginning of a friendship that would survive years of struggle. Yoongi arrived later. He didn't introduce himself immediately. He sat in a corner with his headphones on, looking like he wanted everyone to leave him alone. Namjoon noticed him. Seokjin noticed him too. “Who is that?” “I don't know.” “He looks angry.” Yoongi slowly lifted his head. “I can hear you.” Seokjin froze. Namjoon covered his mouth to hide his laughter. Yoongi looked at them. “What's funny?” “Nothing.” “You were laughing.” “No.” “Yes.” Seokjin smiled. “Do you always look this serious?” Yoongi stared at him. “Do you always talk this much?” Namjoon laughed again. And somehow, that was how it started. Not perfectly. Not magically. Just three boys sitting in a room, trying to figure out why they had all ended up in the same place. Hoseok was the next one. He entered the room with an energy none of them expected. He greeted everyone. Then he started talking. Then he started laughing. Then, before anyone could understand what was happening, he was showing them a dance move. Yoongi stared at him. “Are you serious?” Hoseok grinned. “Very.” “You just met us.” “So?” Seokjin laughed. “I like him.” Yoongi sighed. “Of course you do.” Hoseok looked around the room. “You're all too serious.” Namjoon smiled. “Maybe we need someone like you.” Hoseok stopped. For a second, something changed in his expression. Because those words meant more than Namjoon realized. Maybe he did need them. Maybe they needed him too. Jimin came later. He was quiet at first. He watched. He listened. He didn't try to take over the room. Hoseok noticed him sitting alone. “You're Jimin, right?” Jimin looked up. “Yes.” “Come sit with us.” Jimin hesitated. Then smiled. “Okay.” He moved over. Seokjin immediately started talking to him. Hoseok asked him questions. Namjoon listened. Even Yoongi occasionally joined the conversation. And Jimin slowly relaxed. For the first time, the room didn't feel so unfamiliar. Taehyung arrived unexpectedly. He opened the door. Looked around. And said: “Is this the right room?” Everyone stared at him. Hoseok pointed toward the sign. “Yes.” Taehyung nodded. “Okay.” He walked inside. Then stood there. Nobody spoke. Finally, Seokjin asked: “What's your name?” “Taehyung.” “Are you here for the audition?” “Yes.” “Do you dance?” “Yes.” “Sing?” “Yes.” “Can you cook?” Taehyung thought. “No.” Seokjin laughed. “Okay. We can work with that.” Taehyung smiled. Within minutes, he was talking like he had known them for years. And somehow, the room became louder. Warmer. Different. Then came the youngest. Jungkook. He stood outside the door for several seconds before entering. He was nervous. He had dreams. Big dreams. But dreams were frightening when you didn't know whether you were good enough to achieve them. He looked around. Seven unfamiliar faces. Except there were only six of them inside. He hadn't met all of them yet. Namjoon looked at him. “You're Jungkook?” He nodded. “Yes.” “Come in.” Jungkook stepped inside. And somehow, the seven became complete. The Beginning Wasn't Easy People often imagine success beginning with a perfect opportunity. It doesn't. Sometimes success begins with rejection. With empty pockets. With exhaustion. With wondering whether you made a terrible mistake. The seven boys discovered that quickly. They were young. They had dreams. But dreams didn't pay bills. There were days when they had barely enough to eat. There were days when they were exhausted from practicing. There were days when they wondered if anyone would ever care about their music. One evening, they sat together after practice. Nobody spoke. They were too tired. Seokjin looked at the small amount of food they had. “This is not enough.” Hoseok looked at him. “For all of us?” Seokjin nodded. Yoongi sighed. “Then we share.” Jungkook looked down. “I can eat less.” Namjoon immediately shook his head. “No.” “But—” “No.” Jimin pushed some food toward Jungkook. “Eat.” Jungkook looked at him. “You need it.” “So do you.” Taehyung suddenly broke the silence. “Okay.” Everyone looked at him. “What?” “We're going to make it.” Yoongi raised an eyebrow. “You sound very confident.” “I am.” “Why?” Taehyung smiled. “Because there are seven of us.” Nobody laughed. Nobody made fun of him. Because somehow... they believed him. The First Promise That night, they sat on the floor. Namjoon looked around at the others. “We're going to struggle.” Nobody argued. “We're going to fail sometimes.” Silence. “We might even want to quit.” Yoongi looked down. “But if one person falls,” Namjoon continued, “the others pull him up.” Hoseok nodded. “Agreed.” Jimin nodded. “Agreed.” Taehyung raised his hand. “Agreed.” Seokjin laughed. “You don't have to raise your hand.” “I know.” Jungkook smiled. Yoongi finally looked at Namjoon. “And if all seven of us fall?” Namjoon smiled. “Then we get up together.” That became their first promise. They didn't know how important it would become. The Dream Their dream grew slowly. At first, it was simple. They wanted people to hear their music. Then they wanted people to remember their songs. Then they wanted to perform. Then they wanted to stand on a stage. Then they wanted to become successful enough that their families wouldn't have to worry about money. But eventually, the dream became bigger. They wanted to build something. Something that belonged to them. Something that would exist beyond music. They started talking about business. “What if we had our own company one day?” Taehyung asked. Seokjin laughed. “Doing what?” “Everything.” “That is not a business plan.” Taehyung shrugged. “It's a beginning.” Namjoon smiled. “What would we build?” Yoongi answered first. “Something creative.” Hoseok added: “Something young people could believe in.” Jimin said: “Something that gives people opportunities.” Jungkook thought about it. “And something that helps people who don't have much.” The room became quiet. That idea stayed with them. Because every one of them knew what it felt like to start with almost nothing. They knew what it felt like to have a dream nobody else understood. They knew what it felt like to wonder whether their circumstances would decide their future. So they made another promise. One day... if they ever had enough, they would create opportunities for others. The First Small Business Their first attempt was almost embarrassing. They had little money. No fancy office. No investors. No experienced business team. Just seven young men and an idea. They decided to sell simple merchandise connected to their music. At first, nobody bought much. They sat around staring at their phones. “Nothing.” “Nothing.” “Still nothing.” Jungkook refreshed the page. “Wait.” Everyone looked at him. “What?” “There.” “One order?” Jungkook smiled. “One order!” They celebrated like they had sold a million products. Seokjin jumped up. “Who bought it?” “I don't know.” “Find out.” “We can't.” “Why?” “Privacy.” Seokjin sat down. “Oh.” They laughed. It was a tiny beginning. But it taught them something. A business didn't begin when you became rich. It began when you solved a problem for someone. Their little project grew. Slowly. Then faster. They began learning. Namjoon studied strategy. Yoongi studied production. Hoseok focused on branding and creative direction. Jimin understood people. Taehyung understood storytelling. Seokjin understood presentation and customer experience. And Jungkook... Jungkook learned everything he could. He was still the youngest. But he refused to remain the least experienced. The First Real Failure Then came the failure. A major opportunity appeared. They thought it would change everything. They invested almost everything they had into it. They worked for months. They planned. They created. They waited. And then... it failed. Completely. The money was gone. Their project was finished. The room was silent when they found out. Jungkook stared at the floor. “So that's it?” Nobody answered. “I thought we were going to make it.” His voice cracked. Jimin moved closer. “We will.” “How?” “I don't know.” Jungkook looked at him. “Then how can you say that?” Jimin's eyes filled with tears. “Because I know you.” Jungkook looked away. Yoongi finally spoke. “We didn't lose everything.” “What do we have left?” Yoongi looked around the room. “Each other.” Nobody spoke. Then Hoseok smiled faintly. “That's enough to start again.” Namjoon nodded. “Again.” One word. But it carried everything. Again. Years Later... Their music began reaching more people. Their performances became bigger. Their dreams became real. And slowly, the seven boys who had once wondered whether anyone would listen began hearing thousands of voices singing their words back to them. They had become BTS. But success changed the world around them. It brought money. Fame. Travel. Opportunities. And pressure. There were cameras everywhere. People wanted to know everything about them. What they ate. Where they went. Who they met. Who they loved. Who they trusted. Privacy became something precious. But despite everything, they remembered the beginning. The tiny room. The shared food. The failed business. The promise. They still dreamed of building something beyond music. Something that would help people who were standing where they had once stood. So they began investing. They learned about entrepreneurship. They supported creative projects. They talked about education. They discussed technology. They dreamed of creating a business where young people with talent but little money could find opportunities. It wasn't just about becoming richer. It was about creating the kind of opportunity they had once needed themselves. And somewhere far away... Han Seo-yeon was still struggling. She had no idea that the seven boys whose lives had become enormous were moving closer to hers. She was still working beside her mother. Still singing when nobody was listening. Still writing her dreams in a worn notebook. Still wondering whether her life would ever become anything more than survival. And she had absolutely no idea... that one of those seven boys still remembered her voice. Jungkook had kept the notebook. He had never thrown it away. Years had passed. But sometimes, late at night, he would open it. He would read the sentence again. Maybe one day, someone will hear me. He wondered where she was. Whether she still sang. Whether she had given up. Whether she remembered that night. He didn't know her. Yet somehow... he couldn't forget her. Then one evening, while the seven were discussing a new business project, an unexpected file arrived. A short recording. A beautiful voice. The sender was unknown. Jungkook pressed play. The room became silent. His eyes widened. He knew that voice. He had heard it only once. Years ago. On a dark street. From a girl who had run away before they could learn her name. Jungkook slowly looked at the others. “Guys...” Namjoon turned. “What?” Jungkook didn't answer. He played the recording again. And again. This time, nobody laughed. Nobody spoke. Because they all knew. The girl they had been trying to forget... had just found her way back into their lives. And this time... she wasn't going to run away so easily. To be continued...
