I understood immediately—this was Jevon’s real goal.
The apology was just because he was worried Nydia’s father might make a big deal out of it and go the legal route. Even if it ended up in court, it would only mean paying compensation, but a lawsuit would be bad for Lilith, for him, and for the Eternity Pack.
As long as Nydia’s family was willing to settle privately, the matter would be over.
