51 Low voices carried from inside the tavern, though I didn’t see a hint of anyone standing guard around the building. The large rocks the town had been built of may have been a cheap convenience for the Lir family as they cleared debris out of their mine, but the wide-set stone offered perfect handholds for me to climb. I loved the burning in my muscles as I scaled the wall to our window. The precision of it, the dependence on every part of my body, made me believe for one beautiful second that I was in control.
