19 As the shadows of dusk darkened my tent, I began to pace the tiny space. Finn had told me not to leave my tent until Liam came for me. His words had turned my little home into a cage. Cati brought me dinner and a good-sized mug of frie. I tried asking her about the ceremony, but she wouldn’t answer. All she did was urge me to eat before she slipped back out of my tent. Her words didn’t make eating the sour, chopped tubers she’d brought any easier. I wanted to go to the clearing and see if everyone else had been given the same food. See if Neil was still raging about the hunters not bringing in any meat.
