32 The music from the square carried up to the second floor window, drifting into the parlor where Mave had left us. A painting of the seven-pointed star of Ilbrea hung over the mantle, though no fire burned in the stone hearth beneath. Blue fabric woven into a flower pattern covered the walls and the furniture that took up the center of the space. Three chairs and one, long fainting couch surrounded a table made of rich, cherry-stained wood. I sat on the very edge of the seat I’d been given, too afraid of tainting the fabric with my forest filth to get comfortable. “Not like Harane then?” Finn winked at me. “Careful.” Liam nodded to the open window.
