39 For the first hour, it was easy to make excuses for why Liam and Emmet hadn’t caught up to us. I made Finn stop in the trees by the glenn so I could scavenge for a few more supplies. They hadn’t come by the time I ran out of reasons to linger. I looked behind as we took the road that headed west, but they still weren’t there. When the storm came and lightning split the sky, I took comfort in the downpour.
