CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR
Gary Larson lived in the Palm Towers. Two chrome and glass modernistic behemoths that overlooked the Brown River north of the city and just across the city line into the county. Ugly looking things that rose up off the riverbank like the afterthought of a god discarding a pair of broken tongs. The six storied apartment towers had only two things going for them. One, they were very expensive to live in. You didn’t rent an apartment. You bought one. So, your average trailer-park d**k and Jane weren’t going to move in too soon. Unless they won the lotto.
Secondly it had a spectacular view of the Brown River and the attending countryside. Larson’s apartment was up on the fourth floor in the taller tower. His unit overlooked the river and had a balcony.
