I’d finally left the bathroom, laying across my bed, I’d hope to feel better after a nap, but after an hour of attempts, I’d had no luck at falling asleep.
Someone knocked lightly on the door; with a large amount of effort I lifted myself off the bed, shuffling over, I unlocked it, than pulled it open..
Garrett stood there looking concern, he stepped inside, helping me back to the bed, he propped me upright with my pillows.
He quickly went to the cupboard to get more, then after arranging them behind me.
He sat on the edge of the bed, reaching for my hand, he squeezed it.
“Hey what’s wrong?” He asked.
Garrett was a comfort, but I couldn’t tell him what was going on, Brody was my problem and the reason I left, so I knew I had to lie.
“I think I got food poisoning from some off tuna.” I pointed to bench it was from the night before but it convinced Garrett, as he was suspicious of fish.
“Well sit up for a while, when you’re feeling better we can order in for dinner.” He smiled.
I was hungry; looking at the clock it was almost 5 o’clock already.
I nodded, as Garrett got up, he opened the fridge grabbing the flavoured water I’d left in there, then the remote and walked around the other side of the bed.
Pulling his shoes off he climbed onto the bed, sitting upright next to me.
I leaned against him as he put his arm around me, nothing romantic in his touch after our talk earlier this morning but it was nice.
He flicked through the Tv channels until he lands on an action movie.
Finally I must have slipped away, as the noises faded, the warmth of his side comforts me, and I think I feel him kiss me on the forehead.
I feel safe knowing Garrett there, to protect me whilst I slept.
Conrad POV
I’ve woken up its almost 5 o’clock, but I’m feeling much better, note to self don’t wallow with Jack Daniels.
I headed for a shower clothes in hand, scrubbing and washing myself, made me feel new again after this morning.
After getting dressed, I grabbed my phone, heading for the door.
When I felt something, no these were Ivy’s feelings.
She’d been upset and someone was calming her down, she had love and respect for them, she was with the Alpha, I felt a tug at our bond like a punch in the gut, he’d kissed her.
I was about to slam my fist in the wall when Kon mind-linked me.
“Don’t stress, I just spoke with her wolf, they’re only friends, Ivy’s just been unwell with food poisoning.” He explained.
I sighed, that made me feel better, 24hours and I’d be with her in person anyway.
“I wasn’t stressing, I just don’t like the feeling of sharing her with another male.”
I confided.
“Well don’t she’s a loyal Mate, Agni assured me, but its not my story to tell, anyway stop stressing! What sort are Alpha are you becoming?.” Kon laughed as he cut the mind-link.
I felt better at Kon’s reassurance, I shook my head, I believed him, she was loyal, and I’d waited too long to dismiss my mate now.
So instead of thinking on it more I headed down for dinner.
I rolled over, my eyes closed I could feel hot breath on my face, opening my eyes I found Garrett asleep curled around me protectively.
I rolled back towards the edge of the bed; I peeled his arms from around me and slipped from under the covers.
Heading to the bathroom, passing the clock it reads 7.30pm.
I use the toilet, wash my hands and then return to the room.
I pick up my phone, flicking through uber eats, “Whadda feel like” Restaurant, I clicked on it, scrolling through the menu, I ordered some garlic bread and 2 steaks medium with salads, they estimated 35 mins.
That’d be fine, I walked over to the table, sitting down on the chair closest to the door, I picked up the parcel mum had sent me.
I pull the plastic satchel open, pulling the box inside it out, a card on top read ‘Thinking of you’ I open the card;
“Dear Ivy,
I was so glad to hear from you, and appreciated your letter immensely.
I’ve been worrying over you since you left, I was glad to here you got a job and somewhere to stay.
I’ve included some things in this parcel, I think you’d like to have, and also might need.
You probably already heard from him, but your fathers tracking you again, he rang and I answered you phone not realising it was him.
I’m so sorry, but I love you lots.
Your Mum xx”
I put the card on the table, opening the box, I found a pile of old photos, from the day I was born to now, Mum and I, Me winning my first MMA junior fight, 1st in state at cross country and finally some photos off my phone of Garrett and I, we looked so cute.
Under those I found some money in an envelope, I counted $600, some homemade soap then a familiar jewellery box.
I know what’s inside but open it anyway, on top of the pendant is a folded note, I open it.
“Hello again Ivy,
I’m glad you’ve opened the box, rather then just tossing it in the bin.
I know you think negatively of your father and towards this gift but since you left I’ve been visited by the moon goddess and she said its very important for you to wear the pendant, not for you father but yourself.
Please she wouldn’t have asked if it wasn’t important.
Thinking of you, stay safe, and please be careful of you father.”
I here the some rustling behind me, sleepily Garrett stood behind me, looking down at the jewellery box in my hands.
“Would you like me to put that on for you?” He smiled.
“Yes that’d be great, thank you Garrett.” I replied, holding out the box.
He lifted the Pendant out of the box, I spun as he lifted it over my head, clasping it around my neck, It sat perfectly between my collarbones.
Surprising it felt right, like I’d worn it for years, I held it in my hand for a minute it was cool and smooth.
I wonder why the moon goddess wants me to wear it?
We the food arrived I received a lot of grumbles and looks from Garrett, no chips? Where’s the gravy? I hate salad.
Which was exactly why he needed it, though he made no complaint on the 800g steak set in front of him.
After we’d finished I had left a bit of steak on mine, which Garrett quickly poached, I didn’t know where he put it all.
It was getting late, So I thanked him for having dinner with me and keeping me company, I’d be feeling very unwell earlier.
He assured me it was a pleasure he hugged me and then let himself out to returned to his own room.
I grabbed a t-shirt and some undies, rather than my pyjamas as they stunk, I really needed to do some washing in the morning.
I headed to the bathroom; Holding my nose, I poured toilet liquid into the bowl then flushed the toilet.
I also turned the fan on, hoping to air the bathroom, I placed my clothes and towel on the wall hooks, then stepped under the running water of the shower I’d just turned on, adjusting the temp.
I soaped myself heavily with my vanilla and caramel soap, thinking I’d need to order more soon, the bar was getting small now.
After washing my hair too, I stood letting the water run over me, I couldn’t escape the angry and the fear, over the thoughts of finally meeting my father tomorrow.
“I will become twice the monster. I will avenge the moon goddess and my mother.” I vowed and my necklace heating against my skin in answer.
“Ouch” I exclaimed looking down where my necklace sat, I lifted it, beneath it branded onto my skin now was the moon.
The moon newly burned was red, blood seeped from the deepest parts of the imprint.
I suddenly got the feeling, I wouldn’t be able to break my vow, it’d been blood moon sworn.
Was this the reason the Moon Goddess wanted me to wear the necklace? A type of insurance, the thought pissed me off, I knew I couldn’t got back on my word I seen the movies these types of magic will kill you if you do.
Where was Dean and Sam in their Impala when you needed them! Oh wait nope, I don’t! I’d almost forgotten, I was a werewolf now, I didn’t feel like being in the next episode.
I turned the water off towelling myself, I removed the necklace, gently dabbing the new brand, then dressed, I headed to bed.
Curling into a ball, I cried myself to sleep, when did life give me a break, from now on I really needed to do some research on all these weird objects and prophecy’s.
I opened my eyes, to the draw containing the book, Mr Walsh had lent me Monday after the ball, I’d read the whole thing and anything else Mr Walsh could offer, I needed to be informed quicker.
