CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE As he waded through deep mud, Nash was suddenly glad of his decision to put on chest waders. He looked over at the pile of rock that covered the entrance to the mine. The ventilation system lay smashed and half-buried. Nash took out his phone and began to take photographs. Nothing else appeared to be destroyed, only the entrance to the mine. Nash knew it had been no accident. He had found the detonation cord almost clean, which meant it had not long been reeled out. The utility shed where the explosives had been kept had been broken into because the dust pattern was fresh. And not forgetting the truck that they had found. It had only been left there recently.
