We need to find somewhere to stop.

Cam's pov "dad we've been driving for a few days now, I know you have a good bit of cash on hand and everything for emergency purposes but we won't be able to access anything in your bank account until we're sure we're no longer being looked for. we need to find somewhere to stop and camp out, we can't keep spending so much on gas." I said as I filled up the gas tank with yet another $20, I wasn't sure exactly how much my dad kept but I knew it wasn't going to be endless, and he would eventually run out of money this way. "you're right, I guess next stop let's go on to Walmart and see what they have for camping." I wasn't exactly meaning literal camping but this would work well in the situation we were in. "perfect." Robin stared out the window, she must have been thinking and judging by her Expression it wasn't great either, but ever since I'd bit her to change her I'm unable to read her mind freely. for the short amount of time I had the power, it felt weird still not knowing what she was thinking. "Robin." I began to speak to her directly to get her full attention on the subject."how do you feel about camping out for the rest of the time we're running?" her somber expression didn't seam to change much while she looked to the side as if she were thinking "yeah, camping is fine, as long as I'm not chained anywhere I think I'll be good..." we made our way to the nearest Walmart and all three of us went in to pick out what we needed. we got tents, air mattresses, and blankets and pillows before moving on to look at camping food. we got a cooler to keep things cold in, and a few folding chairs before we finally went on to check everything out. after shoving things into the vehicle the best we could my dad started looking into camping sights and found one that had a grill to use, " perfect, we'll be there in 17 minutes." he said. " Great, I wanna take a nap outside the damn car." I told him before we headed off, Robin still seamingly in a daze. a short while later we were there, nobody was feeling particularly talkative in the car and that didn't seam to change much as we set up camp, I set up everything for robin and I, we would be in the same tent but we got separate air mattresses for us assuming after everything she would want her space. I went to lay down as my dad gathered some wood to make a fire before it got dark, and soon after I layed down to my surprise Robin snuck into the tent and layed down beside me, wrapping an arm around my waist and laying her head on my shoulder. she inhaled deep through her nose and let out a sigh of relief. "you smell so amazing, mean you always have but now that im a wolf you smell SO amazing." she sniffed again at my neck before laying her head back down. I couldn't help but laugh a little "that's the mate bond, honestly I'm surprised you can smell it yet even though you haven't shifted yet, usually all your wolf senses come when you get your wolf" I told her and she looked at me funny. " well I can already hear her, her name is emerald.". I didn't even know that was possible before shifting, but then I knew that Robin wasn't just a normal wolf either. " wow, most wolf's can't do that until our first shift." she raised her brows and shrugged a little " cool. " I could tell she didn't really know how to respond. I just kissed her head, and she gave out a sigh before closing her eyes in an attempted to take a nap, and I did the same as I held her there on the small air mattress. we woke up to my dad yelling the word "food" we probably would have normally hesitated to get up but as hungry as we were at the moment we sprug up immediately and left the tent to see what my dad had cooked up, he had made hotdogs with corn on the cob and baked potatoes, Robin got two hotdogs and one corn on the cob with one baked potato and put them all on a paper plate neatly arranged, using condiments to customize her dish, I got 5 hotdogs with just ketchup, and a baked potato with lots of sour cream and bacon bits spread sloppily across two plates, and we all sat down at a picnic table that was provided at the camp sight. my dad's meal looked similar to mine but with a piece of corn as well. as we ate we discussed how long we would be staying here. "Alright, I think it would be best that we keep moving still but I think we'll stay here at least a few more nights before moving on, I figure every 3 days we move sights so we don't get tracked easily." my dad spoke while finishing a bite of potato. "I think that's a good plan, and reasonable." Robin stated in response for the first time since we'd been in this mess. I was happy that she was beginning to stabilize again. " I think we should also take turns you and me at night time guarding the sight so nothing catches us off guard at night time" I added. "that was going to be my next suggestion, I'm glad you're up for it as much as I am." my dad agreed. Robin looked relieved not only that she was being protected, but simply to be out of the car. "Cam can we go for a walk, I need to stretch my legs." Robin asked as she finished her food. "yeah, I'll walk you around the camp sight a little, my legs need it just as bad.". I couldn't be happier to have her safe with me. we started walking silently and after a minute robin asked me "what are my parents gonna think? what about school, what happens after all this? I mean my parents are s**t you don't really care about them but I don't want my brothers and sisters to think I'm dead, and I don't like school but I don't want to be a dropout either." that was a lot to answer and honestly I didn't have the answer for any of it right now " relax okay, we will figure everything out, after everything is over we'll figure everything out as it comes. I promise." i assured her while I pulled her in for a hug. I never wanted to loose her, and I didn't care if it meant never telling her family, or going back to school, but I knew we would have to cross those hurdles eventually so I made a note to mention it to my dad when me and him could talk.
