Chapter 6

I didn’t want anyone to know of this meeting/gathering if they didn’t need to, hence I had an online meeting held which was secured by scattered codes which encrypted all data. As everyone came in, I started it off. “Ladies and gentlemen, for those of you who don’t know me, I’m Alexandra Specter, daughter of Mr M. Specter and Mrs C. Specter. I go by the name Alex and currently study at Vale College, second year. I called this meeting because I came across one of the De Leon’s daughter.” Shocked mouths hung open and I couldn’t see why this disturbed and shocked them so much. I impatiently said: “Can anyone tell me the full history of my family and the De Leons?” Everyone stayed muted and I sighed in annoyance. Silence was really getting on my nerves. “If no one says anything this meeting is over and I will go after the De Leon girl myself”I threatened. Finally, Henry, one of my parents’ associates said: “You shouldn’t concern yourself with these things, Alexandra.” I flinched at my name. He continued: “Focus on studying and don’t turn up like the rest of us, caught up in mafia’s cross-hairs and stuff. When the time comes, all will be revealed to you.” I left the meeting in a huff. How dare they think I wasn’t old enough! Lucien drove me back to campus as I sat there deep in thought. There must be some way to find out what happened, what if Valentina finds out who I am and decides to make a move. “We might be college students but it doesn’t mean we don’t know anything!”I thought. Lucien sensed my train of thoughts and looked at me through the mirror. “Henry is right in a way”he said mysteriously. “When the time comes you will know what you want to know. Meanwhile just stay far away from the De Leon and her brother.” I arched an eyebrow. How did he know all that? He was just a driver. “I know a lot of things, miss. I hope you will heed my words.”he said again and dropped me off at the college. Confused and with even more questions in my head, I walked in and decided against Lucien’s words. I would make friends with Zach and Valentina if I couldn’t find anything against them. “The bigger your friend circle the better,” I thought. I cleared my thoughts and decided to focus on Amber for now. I went straight to our dorm and confronted her. After a lengthy discussion, she broke down and confessed that Ethan was always bullying her and that no one had stood up for her or been nice to her. With nothing but pure rage in my eyes, I stalked out to go find Ethan. "Wait! Don't go when you're so angry, it will only make things worse for me."Amber stopped me halfway. Though I knew she was underestimating me, I decided to listen to her for once. "Fine, but I'm not staying just because you told me to."I retorted and lay down on the lower bunk. Today was such a busy day, could it get any worse? Apparently so, as when I decided to get a cup of black coffee at the shop near Vale College, I saw Zach and some of his minions sitting at a table. He jerked a waiter's arm, which made him accidentally spill coffee on Zach. Seeing the group bully the waiter, I decided to turn a blind eye for now and tip the waiter for his trouble after his shift. I had enough drama for a day and walked out right after I got my coffee. Well, two coffees to be exact, I needed the caffeine.
