Chapter 1
Alex's POV
"Hurry up Alex! We can't be late today!" Nicole stormed into my room and shouted. Typical her, always a stickler for rules and regulations. "Fine, I'm up! Get out of my room I'll get ready." I shouted back at her.
Today was our high school graduation. Nicole and I and a few friends stayed back one year due to our grades. We finally would graduate today.
I threw on a black top and some jeans and walked out of the house right to the limo waiting there. "Seriously, you're gonna wear that? Today's a big day!" Nicole sighed in exasperation as she looked at my outfit.
"Come on, at least I'm going. I would have stayed home today if I didn't want to scare the kids one more time" I smirked. I was known as a badass. Most people would say I have a heart of steel and to be honest, I'm just good with my emotions. Everyone was scared of me, except for my few friends.
We reached our school and went to the hall. "Hey, Ethan! What's up" I hollered. "Hey, Alex, hey Nic. We're finally getting out this hellhole yeahhh!" Ethan excitedly said. Behind him was James, your typical badboy, Greek god. "Wassup shawties" He smirked at us. "Hey, you can't say that to me I'm literally your height!"I shot back. "You and your comebacks, I'll miss high school."James grumbled.
The day passed by really fast. We took our scrolls and certificates, gave speeches and took pictures. My favorite part was my own speech. You might see me as arrogant but it was perfection.
*Flashback*
"Hey to all of you. While I'm gone, if you do anything I wouldn't approve of, don't do it because I will come back. I had some...interesting memories here." I smirked. "Anyway, be who you want, don't listen to your teachers and ciao!" I ended my speech with a casual wave and sauntered down the stage, teachers all glaring at me because of my last sentence.
*Flashback ends*
The graduation wasn't as sad as I imagined. Leaving this place and starting new in college was something I looked forward to. As we said our goodbyes for the year, I noticed a girl near Ethan. "Yo, you got a girlfriend already? Wow."I asked him when the brunette walked out. "Lol no Alex, she's my sister." "Sister?!"I incredulously asked. "Yeah, her name is Amber. Why, something's wrong?"He looked at me worriedly. "Nah all good, see you next year."I brushed off my thoughts and said bye. She didn't look half bad. I quickly waved at the rest and went home in the limo with Veronica, one of my close friends as well.
As the limo drove us to my house, Veronica asked me "Hey Alex?" "Yeah"I replied. "You seem distorted, sad about leaving school?"She carefully asked. She knew even if she was my friend, if she said one wrong thing I would burn her alive. Not literally.
"Yeah, I'm...a bit sad about leaving." I lied straight to her. I had no idea what was going on in my own head, but that I was distorted and not thinking straight.
I told Veronica to give me some time till next year when we would all see each other again in Vale College, where we would study. We waved goodbye and I climbed into my bed and slept, exhausted from my lack of emotions.
