When the door finally opened, he bounded out in the yard sending several squirrels and a couple of Mourning Doves seeking cover in the nearby maple and white birch trees. He didn’t really didn’t have any intention of harming them but the sight of a pure black, a hundred and some, pound, over zealous and very enthusiastic pit bull in full flight gave them reason to err on the side of caution and take flight. He went about his own ritual while patrolling the perimeter of the spacious yard inspecting everything for signs of intruders.
