The County CourthouseThe Tulsa County Courthouse sat on a high embankment on the corner of Sixth Street and Boulder Avenue. The impressive building spanned most of the block and stood four stories high with limestone terraces on either side of the entrance. A second entry in the back provided access to the basement. The sheriff’s department occupied most of the first floor and the four courtrooms were located on the second. The third floor housed the jury room and law library and the fourth floor contained the main lockup as well as the gallows. Willard McCullough and his three deputies entered from the rear and took the elevator up one flight.
