Nyra got inside her house, took a shower, then went online on her laptop. She searched about Bled, hoping to find anything unusual.
As she scrolled through different websites and old stories, she found something that caught her attention.
There were reports about strange creatures that had been seen deep inside the forest. Most people believed they were only myths, while others claimed they had seen them with their own eyes.
Nyra quickly grabbed her notebook and wrote everything down. She underlined the important parts, hoping they would help her later. Once she was done, she closed her laptop, placed the notebook on her bedside table, and went to bed.
Even though she was tired, her mind stayed busy with everything she had read.
The next morning, Nyra got ready early. She packed her notebook, a bottle of water, and her phone before leaving the house. Her curiosity was stronger than her fear. She wanted to know if those stories were true.
She entered the forest, following a narrow trail surrounded by tall trees. The morning air was cool and birds sang from above, but the deeper she walked, the quieter everything became. She climbed over fallen logs and carefully walked through thick bushes, keeping her eyes open for anything unusual.
After walking for a while, she suddenly froze Not far away stood a black wolf.
It was larger than any wolf she had ever seen. Its dark fur almost blended into the shadows, and its golden eyes stared
directly at her without blinking. Neither of them moved for a few seconds.Nyra's heart started pounding.Without thinking, she turned and ran. Branches scratched her arms as she rushed through the forest. She could hear her own breathing and the sound of her footsteps hitting the ground.
She didn't dare look behind her.She kept running until she reached the edge of a cliff. She stopped too suddenly. Her foot slipped on the loose rocks beneath her.
Before she could catch herself, she lost her balance. She fell.
The cold water hit her body hard.
She struggled the moment she landed. The current pulled her farther away, and panic rushed through her. Nyra couldn't swim. She kicked her legs wildly and reached for anything she could grab, but there was nothing. Water filled her mouth
as she tried to breathe.
Her strength slowly faded. Her eyes became heavy.Everything around her started turning dark.Just as she began to drown, someone jumped into the water.
Kaelan swam toward her as fast as he could.
Through the water, Nyra could barely make out the person's face. Everything looked blurry, but she knew it was a man.
Kaelan reached her within seconds. Seeing that she was no longer able to stay above the surface, he carefully held her close.
Knowing she wasn't getting enough air, he gently tilted her head back, pinched her nose shut, and pressed his lips to hers to give her a rescue breath. As soon as air filled her lungs, he pulled back, tightened his hold around her, and swam toward the shore.
The current fought against him, but he never let go. After reaching land, Kaelan gently laid Nyra on the ground. She wasn't breathing properly. Without wasting another second he checked her breathing and immediately started CPR. Come on he muttered quietly. After several moments, Nyra suddenly coughed.
Water poured from her mouth as she gasped for air.She slowly opened her eyes.
The first thing she saw was a man kneeling in front of her.
She stared at him in complete shock.
He looked around six feet tall with broad shoulders and a sharp face. His dark hair was slightly wet from the river, and drops of water rolled down his skin. He only wore a pair of short trousers and no shirt. His athletic body and defined muscles showed the strength it had taken to pull her from
the water.
For a moment, neither of them spoke
Kaelan looked at her with calm eyes.
"Are you okay?" he asked.Nyra slowly nodded.Y-Yes."She was still trying to catch her breath.Kaelan stood up, ready to leave. Wait," Nyra called after him.
He stopped but didn't turn around immediately.
Who are you?" she asked. "And... thank you for saving me."Kaelan stayed silent.
Without saying a single word, he walked away into the forest until he disappeared between the trees.
Nyra watched him leave. She had so many questions, but none of them had been answered. After resting for a while, she stood up and slowly made her way out of the forest. Her clothes were still wet, but she hardly noticed.
When she got home, she couldn't get Kaelan out of her mind.Who was he?
Why did he save me? And what was that creature I saw?
Question after question filled her head. She replayed everything that had happened over and over again. The black wolf. The fall. The cold water. The stranger who had appeared out of nowhere.
She walked over to her notebook and looked at the notes she had written the night before.
There has to be a connection," she whispered to herself.I have to find out about those creatures and who that guy is.Meanwhile, back at the pack, Kaelan quietly returned to his room.
He closed the door behind him and leaned against it.
His thoughts kept returning to Nyra.
He remembered the moment he reached her in the water. He remembered the fear on her face and how close he had held her while bringing her back to shore.
Without thinking, he lifted his hand and touched his lips.
He stayed there for a long moment, lost in thought. He had only done what was necessary to save her life.
Yet somehow, he couldn't stop remembering it.Back at her house, Nyra lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling.
She gently touched her lips.
She knew he had only given her a rescue breath to save her from drowning.Even so, she couldn't forget the moment.
It had been her first kiss. She never expected it to happen like that.
The memory stayed with her no matter how hard she tried to push it away.
Who was Kaelan? Why did he disappear without saying anything?Would she ever see him again?
Those questions stayed in her mind until her eyes slowly became heavy. Still thinking about the mysterious man who had saved her life, Nyra finally drifted off to sleep.
