Nyra walked through the town of Bled, looking around as she made her way down the quiet streets.
The town was different from what she expected. It was peaceful, but there was something unusual about the silence. She noticed how few people were outside and how everyone seemed to keep to themselves.
The streets were clean, and the small buildings gave the town a welcoming appearance. There were flower boxes beneath some of the windows, and a few bicycles rested against old brick walls.
A gentle breeze carried the scent of fresh trees through the air. Even though everything looked calm, Nyra couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing. She stopped a few times to ask people about the town.
Why is it always so quiet here?" she asked one person. The person only gave her a short answer before walking away. Nyra frowned. She tried asking a few more questions, but most people avoided giving her much information.
They either changed the subject or simply said they were busy. It made her even more curious. Some people smiled politely before leaving, while others looked nervous the moment she mentioned the town.
One elderly woman seemed ready to answer but suddenly stopped herself and hurried away without another word.
Nyra wrote everything down in her notebook. She believed even the smallest details could become important later. The way people avoided her questions made her think there was something they didn't want outsiders to know.
After checking the time, Nyra continued walking toward the college. She had her notebook in her hand, already writing down a few things she had noticed about Bled.
She wrote that the town was beautiful but strangely quiet. She also noted that the people were friendly enough to greet her, yet they became uncomfortable whenever she asked about the town itself.
The more she wrote, the more questions filled her mind.As she was about to enter the school building, someone caught her attention.
A guy was walking toward her.He was tall, around six feet, with an athletic build. He had sharp eyes, a defined jawline, and a confident look that made him stand out. He dressed casually, but there was something about the way he carried himself that made people notice him.
Several students greeted him as he walked past, and he smiled back at them. It was easy to see that many people knew him. When he reached her, he smiled.
"Hi, I'm Evren Ash," he said.Nyra looked at him for a moment before smiling back.I'm Nyra Vale."
Are you new here?" Evren asked.Yes. I just arrived in Bled."Evren nodded.I thought so. I know most people around here. You do?"
Yeah," he replied. "I was born here."Nyra smiled.
That's nice. Can I ask you some questions about the town? Evren looked slightly surprised but nodded "Sure. Ask anything."Nyra smiled and opened her notebook.I've been asking people questions all morning, but no one really wants to answer me.Evren gave a small laugh.
People here don't always like talking to strangers."I noticed," Nyra replied. "It's making me even more curious."You ask a lot of questions."I always have."
What are you studying?"Journalism," Nyra answered. "I want to become a reporter someday."Evren nodded with interest.
That explains the notebook."Nyra smiled.
I never go anywhere without it."She was about to ask her first question when a group of guys called out his name from a distance.Evren!"
He turned around and saw them waiting for him.He lifted his hand and waved, letting them know he had heard them.
When he turned back to Nyra, he gave her an apologetic smile. Can we meet tomorrow? I have to go now."Nyra nodded.Sure."
It was nice meeting you.You too."Evren started walking away, but after a few steps, he suddenly stopped. He felt a strange presence nearby. It was difficult to explain. It wasn't a sound or something he could see, but he could feel it.
A powerful energy passed through him, making him look around for a moment.
His eyes moved across the students walking through the campus before stopping for a second on Nyra.
Something about the feeling seemed connected to her, but he couldn't understand why.He didn't know where it was coming from.He didn't know what it was. After a few seconds, he continued walking and joined the others.
One of his friends asked if everything was alright.Evren simply nodded.Yeah. I just thought I felt something."His friend looked confused but didn't ask any more questions.Nyra watched him leave before entering the university.
Her classes passed slowly. She tried to focus but her mind kept returning to the town the questions she couldn't get answers to, and the strange feeling she had experienced since arriving.
Even during lectures, she found herself staring out the window. She could see the forest in the distance. Something about it continued to pull her attention. She didn't understand why.
When classes ended, she returned home.
She placed her bag down and sat quietly for a while. The house was silent except for the sound of the clock hanging on the wall. She leaned back in her chair and thought about everything that had happened since arriving in Bled.
For some reason, she found herself thinking about Evren.Maybe because he was the first person in Bled who actually seemed willing to talk to her.
She wondered what he would tell her the next day. Since he had grown up in Bled, maybe he knew the answers everyone else refused to give. She shook her head and stood up.She needed to focus.
Later that evening, Nyra walked outside and looked toward the forest behind the house. The trees stood tall and quiet. The wind gently moved the branches, creating soft whispers that echoed through the woods. She wondered what was hidden inside.
The forest was the first thing that caught her attention when she arrived, and she still couldn't explain why she felt drawn to it.For a brief moment, she thought she saw movement between the trees.
She looked again.Nothing was there.
After standing there for a while, she went back inside.
She walked to the bookshelf and searched through the books left in the house. She wanted to find something about the forest and the history of Bled.
Most of the books were old, their covers faded with age. Dust covered several of them, making it clear they had not been touched in years. After a few minutes, she found an old book about the area.
Nyra sat down and opened it.
She began reading about the town, its past, and the places surrounding it.
The book spoke about Bled's history, the families who had lived there for generations, and the forests that surrounded the town. Some pages were worn and difficult to read, while others mentioned old stories that many people no longer believed.
Nyra continued turning the pages, completely unaware that the answers she was searching for were much closer than she realized. She didn't know that the forest held secrets that were far beyond what she could imagine.
