Nikolai’s POV It didn't make sense, it really didn't. In fact, the more I thought about it, the worse it became. This whole thing was absurd and no one was helping matters, not even Daphne. I stared at the phone in my hand. Daphne had disconnected the call hours ago, but I couldn't help but wonder if that was really all there was to it. None of it made sense, from Xavier's findings to Daphne's testimony, they both weren't adding up. Something was wrong, I could feel it. Feel it deep in my gut and my gut was never wrong.
