Chapter 17: Assassination (Part 1)

"Good morning!"

Hanayuki said as she opens the door of the cafe. The bell in the door makes a ring.

No one responds and greet Hanayuki back.

"Looks like no one is around."

I said.

"That can't be... How about my special fried chicken?"

Said Hanayuki.

"You're mind is filled with fried chicken... Huh... Look over there."

Turn our glance to the kitchen part of the cafe. We can see a shadow.

It might be the owner of the cafe.

There we found a girl with black hair that reached her shoulder with pretty azure eyes.

Just looking with her I realized it and pulled my sword.

"Stand back Hanayuki, that girl is a red robe terrorist leader..."

"A red robe terrorist leader."

Said Hanyuki and glance at the girl.

The girl with black hair is the red robe terrorist leader named Seele. She is also known as the second squad captain.

What is she doing here and why she's casually cooking like she is not a big deal.

"What is this we have a customer? Looking in your eyes. I believe you're not. Are you here to get my head?"

Seele said.

A gun suddenly appeared in her right hand and her left arms, Hanayuki was taken as a hostage.

So fast! What just happened?

"I didn't know that a castle will go and search all the way in the edge of the map just to find us."

Flore is indeed on the edge part of the map. It's very small and no one really pays attention to these remote towns.

Looking in the peaceful state of the town. Looks like Seele is not doing anything chaotic yet.

"Ren... Don't kill her."

"You're so kind for a hostage, don't worry killing a kid doesn't give me thrill."

My sword started to burst with flames.

"Want a fight? Take this."

Seele fired a magic bullet to me.

I hurried and deflected it.

Seele pointed out my mistake.

In the blade, the magic bullet is still attached spinning in momentum.

The bullet moves and hits my forehead.

Suddenly Seeled releases a great amount of magic. She focused the magic toward the gun.

Seele is serious about what she just told me.

Before Seele fire the deathly magic bullet.

Someone cut in.

"What is the meaning of this?!"

A giant teddy bear monster appeared from our back. The magic presence of the teddy bear is so strong. Making our feet froze still on the floor.

The one who is controlling the teddy bears is a little girl.

Wearing an apron and has silvery hair.

That little girl, the one with the apples.

"Elulu-chan... umm... We are just playing you see."

"Seele to you think I will believe that."

"Well, that man might be a royal knight. I need to knock him down and throw somewhere else."

Seele said.

She is explaining her best to Elulu.

Elulu started to panic and summon more bears surrounding me.

I turn my glance at Hanayuki and protested.

"Well, they are offering my food and I'm hungry. I have no choice."

Said Hanayuki as she chews soft pancakes.

I thought you're here for fried chicken.

"Speaking of which? Your name is Hanayuki?"

Asked Elulu.

"Yup."

"Do you remember me? Look in my face we used to playback than on the island."

Elulu Asked Hanayuki.

Is Elulu Hanayuki's childhood friend?

Hanayuki tried her best to remember but...

Elulu uses one of her giant teddy bears and punched Seele away from her.

Elulu turns her glance at me and said:

"Then, about this knight. What should we do with you?"

"Let me explain myself. I'm not a part of royal knight... I'm a traveler with Hanayuki. I'm here because of the discount coupon. You gave it to me yesterday right?! Remember me! With the apples!"

I explained to Elulu.

Elulu stares at my face and said:

Thank goodness. Elulu remembers and unties me down.

After that, we get a normal breakfast and talk to each other.

I can't even believe that I'm eating with two red robes terrorist captain in front of me.

Elulu explained why they are in his small town.

Apparently Elulu and Seele. Decided to run away in the chaos and just live a normal life in Flore. They are running a little cafe in the Flore and never did anything wrong.

I take a look at the poster Scarlet gave me with pictures of Elulu.

Hanayuki was 17 years old and the same as Elulu.

That cookie must be so delicious.

"Then, do you know where is the red robe terrorist base?"

I asked seriously.

"Of course."

"Where is it?"

"Why?"

"We have a contract with the General. We can't just say where is the base... To give you a clue, the location of the base is changing every time. But still, we know the location because the base needs some of our magic to put a barrier on it."

Seele said and started using a cookie like a plane moving in the air.

She placed a cookie on the table and used her finger to make it move in a circle.

"The base is floating and moving... Ren is still not trusting us? If we're a really bad person we already killed you."

Said Seele and turn her glance to me.

"Don't think about Ren glare. It's just a habit of him... He is distrustful and an i***t. Maybe he killed a lot of people that the two of you did."

Said Hanayuki.

"Really?"

Said Elulu with a puzzled face.

I turn my glance away and let Hanayuki continue.

"Ren is on the journey to kill the general of red robe terrorist..."

After saying that.

Seele and Elulu turn glance at me.

"Are you sure? general is super strong. we know that he is evil and killed lots of people. Including the people in different countries."

"That's right Ren!"

Seele and Elulu nodded.

"If General is evil, then, why serve him?"

Asked Hanayuki to Elulu and Seele.

The two captains started to look depressed.

"Many things happened and we have no choice but to become a captain by that time. I was a victim of an experiment. There's a lot of kid in that experiment and I'm the only one that left alive."

Seele said.

"The reason I became a captain is to protect Hanayuki back then, I always want to play with Hanayuki and I need to protect the island. I used my magic to put a barrier on it... After the next day, general give me the title as a captain."

Said Elulu.

"Then we're childhood friend."

I stand up and started to walk away.

Hanayuki grab me and said:

"You will pay for the meal, you're the man right?"

I said as I push her face away from me.

"You promised to buy me food earlier this morning... Pay for it!"

"I only promise in treating you fried chicken meal... I'm also broke you know. I only have a few money left in my wallet."

I said.

Hanayuki gets her trump card.

"Elulu did you know... Ren sleeps beside me and hugs me tightly. While his hugging me. I felt this hard thing in the down part of the male body... I wonder---"

I close Hanayuki's mouth and explain.

Elulu looks to like a piece of trash and said:

In the end, I pay off both of us plus the fried chicken meal Hanayuki just order.

What will happen to me the next day?

We take several quests at the same time.

There's no s-class quest here. Only a c-class is available. It consists of finding a missing cat. Killing a r****h monster and killing some giant frog in the hill.

It's all easy, but fun.

After that, we go back to the guild to get our reward.

"Here you go! It's the reward for your quest."

Said the gild attendant.

I take the silver and put it in my wallet.

The attendant then talked to me.

"Sorry, but we can't let you have another quest. You two already finished five quests. let's give some other adventurers to finish some quest."

"Ren let's go back to Elulu's cafe."

We decided to go back to Elulu's cafe and have some lunch there.

Just the moment Ren and Hanayuki left the guild. A girl wearing a dull-looking robe heard Hanayuki.

"Elulu..."

The girl wearing a robe is Alicia. The princess of Arsland. She is in the guild and traveling alone for one reason.

She is traveling for her princess trail and kills Elulu the red robe terrorist captain.

Alicia stands up and leaves.

"Elulu."
