Chapter 47: Fragments of memories

The story will move to another place. The place where Hanayuki and her friend Melida are currently in. The famous dungeon is called Heaven gate. Heaven's Gate is a tower-like dungeon located on another continent. It’s famous because no one has ever seen the top floor of the dungeon.

Hanayuki and Melida having the magical aptitude of 9,999,999 easily defeating the high leveled monster appearing in front of them.

After the accident and meeting on steel island, Melida got some of her memories back from the real world. That’s the main reason she is with Hanayuki. Because like her Hanayuki is someone from the real world.

“Hanayuki, what really happened after that party?”

Asked Melida.

“I still can’t remember everything.”

Hanayuki replied.

A giant serpent monster attacked them. Hanayuki uses her lightning fist and toasts the serpent in instant.

“You still don’t have your memories in the real world? That’s weird, I already gain all of my memories. We’re here because we have a mission to retrieve Yuki’s soul.”

“Yuki?”

“She’s our friend who's currently on comatose. We need to hurry up if we don’t do something she will die. Yuki is an important comrade of us. Especially those days we’re in the death game that prisons us in three years. Yuki helped us in many ways and save our life much time. This time we should return the favor and save her.”

Melida tried her best in explaining to Hanayuki, but Hanayuki seems to not get anything.

That’s the main reason they came to Heaven gate. Heaven's Gate is a special place where “Harusaki Yuna” places the console. The console has the ability to contact people in the real world. If Melida manages to contact the people in the real world. Explaining things will be easier.

“Kanna we must save Yuki…”

“Kanna?”

“That’s you’re real name.”

Three years ago, the gaming world change after the lunch of the first-ever VRMMMORPG in the world.  A game where you can use your five senses and a world where you can experience a fantasy world.

The game was created by Harusaki Alice the older sister of Hayusaki Yuna and Harusaki Yuki. Alice is the eldest among the sisters and she was inspired to make this game because she was obsessed with fantasy games and novels. The game is called New world Online. The First game where people can dive into another world.

Kanna Hayami and Miyu Sasaki are one of the thousand beta testers of the new world online.

It’s the first time Miyu and Kanna experience diving in another world. They ride a dragon, defeat monsters, and enjoy life in another world. Many people didn’t know but Harusaki Alice has another plan in the New world online.

Harusaki Alice wanted to create a new world. A new world where you can do anything like in the real world. Because of that Harusaki Alice trapped 10,000 players inside the game to make an experiment. The tragic accident happened. Harusaki Alice was nowhere to be found and 10,000 players were trapped in the new world online including Kazuya and Yuki.

 In the new world online, when you die in the game you die in real life. The only way to get out of the game is to clear it.

That rule changes everything in the new world online.

People panic and commit suicide. People killing each other. People getting killed by monsters. Some people became insane and some people already accept their fate of being trap in this world.

Then a brave girl named Kanna rise and started defeating the monsters on each floor.

In the end, Kanna Manage to reach the top floor which is the 100 floor, and defeated the final boss of the game. The creator itself Harusaki Alice.

After the fierce fight. Kanna got a little chat with the creator.

“Why did you do this? You killed many people?”

Asked Kanna.

“Why? I just want a new reality. I’m so tired of our reality, I want to make an exciting reality. Living in a new world online is so fun. A castle in the sky. Using magic and more. Riding the dragon's back. Everything is exciting in this world. Unlike our dull world. Do you agree Hanayuki?”

“Hanayuki? My name is Kanna.”

Harusaki Alice laughs.

“I’m going to die my soul was destroyed… At last, I’m finally going to rest.”

Harusaki Alice disappeared in tiny light particles.

After that, the new world online was destroyed and everyone returns.

Kanna became popular and became the hero. She receives many interviews and many people started to realize how cute she is. Kanna became a model and actress afterward. Even with popularity, Kanna remained humble and meet with her old friends.

November 21st, 2056 in the real world.

Harusaki Yuna wanted to make a world similar to the New world online but without the deadly restriction.

Harusaki invited Kanna and her friends to make a test run of the game.

Soul converter is the Full dive machine invented by Harusaki Yuna in Harusaki company. Unlike its predecessors, the machine connects to a human's Fluctlight (consciousness or soul), instead of the brain.

The Soul converter was constructed to be used as a method of creating a highly adaptive Artificial Intelligence (AI) to be used for the One’s Eden project. Unlike previous methods of creating such AI, which relied on the use of existing computer architecture for the AI to accumulate experience via simple questions and answers, the AI that is developed for One’s Eden project is based on the structure of a human's brain, to create an AI with awareness and the adaptability level of a human. As the Soul converter is capable of scanning and thus copying, the structure of a human's consciousness, called a “Fluctlight”, the machine was successfully used in cloning a human's soul and the creation of an AI with the capabilities of a real human.

They manage to experience the Overworld for the first time. The Overworld is very realistic. Once a person came into this world they will think they are really transported to another world.

The overworld runs at a different speed than the real world. It exceeds 2,000,000 times faster than the real world.

December 17th, 2056 in the real world.

Kanna and her friend came to meet each other in a restaurant bar to have a party. They celebrating their success in winning the guild war on the new game their playing.

After the party, Kazuya and Yuki got into an accident and Yuki’s head was smashed by a baseball bat. Yuki’s body is pale and she already loses lots of blood. She was immediately brought to the hospital but the doctors are saying everything is hopeless.

“We’re very sorry, but we can’t save Harusaki Yuki’s life.”

Said the doctor and bow their head to Yuki’s parents.

Harusaki Yuna then make a proposal.

Since Yuki already lost her soul. Harusaki Yuna is planning in putting the copy of Yuki’s soul in Overworld to her real-world body. Kanna, Kazuya, and Miyu join the operation to save Yuki.

“That is crazy, Yuki is already dead.”

Said the doctor.

“With technology nothing is impossible.”

Yuna said and started the operation.

To capture Yuki’s soul. Kanna and her friends must find the current body where Yuki’s soul resides and bring her in front of the console to log out.

But that won’t be easy since Zeno. A man insanely in love with Yuki wanted to live with Yuki in Overworld forever. Zeno uses his wealth and hires many programmers to hack the company system and the One’s Eden project. Zeno was able to dive into Overworld as Prince Zeno.

The Prince of Lumiere family with insane love for princess Yusael. They put bugs in the system making Hanayuki redo their life in Overworld. Kanna was born Hanayuki. That’s the reason why Hanayuki doesn’t have her memories in the real world.

Since Overworld runs at high speed. Rebirth and growing up is just fast as a minute in the real world. Kanna grows up as Hanayuki and now she faces the truth on why she’s in Overworld.

Back in Heaven gate.

Hanayuki and Melida arrived at the top floor and saw the console Melida’s talking about.

“That’s the console… Do you believe me now Kanna?”

“I see this world is just a world created for the entertainment of those whose above this world. Seeing the console, I feel like my identity as Hanayuki was all a big lie.”

Hanayuki said as she looks at the console.

Melida then uses the console to present some images of the real world. She also presented Hanayuki’s true self, her appearance in the real world.

“That girl is you in real-world you’re an actress and many people love you. You did much live-action manga and anime. Your so cute I’m your number one fan. Really don’t have magic or these cool-looking skills but in that world, in our reality. It’s always fun being with you.”

Said Melida to convince.

Hanayuki still has trouble face and can’t believe that the world she currently in is not real.

“Kanna…”

“I don’t know I I can help you, I can’t just throw my life here. I have many precious friends here. I also have many memories here. I’m in pursue of my memories. I want to meet my mother here. We might be the same, but I can’t just abandon this world.”

“Earth is our world, Japan is our country. Why you can’t understand that?“

“You said you're my number one fan right?”

“Yes, I am.”

“Then, please give me more time to think. Honestly, I already have some of my memories as Kanna. Back in Steel Island I already recognize you. All I need is time to think. I don’t want to make sudden decisions.”

Said Hanayuki.

Melida nodded her head.

“Of course, this world is running at high speed. We can take our time.”

Said Melida.

After that, Melida and Hanayuki exit the Heaven gate and ride a boat back to Arsland continent.

“I’m so cute.”

Muttered Hanayuki the moment she remembers her face in the real world.

Hanayuki's journey in finding the truth started.
