CHAPTER SEVEN

419 Words
The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and baking pastries filled the air of the Flower Garden Cafe. Aron and Raven, still adjusting to their new roles as cafe employees, were busy wiping down tables and refilling sugar packets, their movements a bit clumsy and uncoordinated. "You're doing a terrible job," a voice snapped, cutting through the morning bustle. Aron and Raven froze, their eyes darting towards the source of the sound. Standing before them was a young woman, her face stern, her eyes sharp, her hair pulled back in a tight bun. She was wearing a crisp white apron, her movements efficient and precise. "Luna," Raven said, his voice a low murmur. He had heard whispers about Luna, the cafe's head barista, known for her strict training methods and her unwavering commitment to perfection. "You're supposed to be wiping the tables, not polishing them," Luna said, her voice sharp and commanding. "And you, Raven," she said, her gaze shifting to Raven, "you're supposed to be refilling the sugar packets, not rearranging them." Aron and Raven exchanged smiles, their cheeks flushing with a mixture of amusement and embarrassment. They had never met anyone as intimidating as Luna, but they knew their parents had hired her for a reason. "I'm sorry," Aron mumbled, his voice barely audible. "We're still learning." Luna's expression softened slightly. "Learning is good," she said, her voice a bit less harsh. "But you need to learn quickly." She turned to Raven, her eyes softening a bit. "You're doing a good job, Raven," she said, her voice a bit more encouraging. "Keep it up." Raven, always the more confident of the two, grinned, his eyes twinkling with a mixture of admiration and amusement. "Thanks, Luna," he said, his voice a bit bolder. "I'm trying my best." As Luna continued to supervise their training, Aron and Raven couldn't help but notice a young man standing behind the counter, his hands moving with practiced ease as he prepared a latte. He was smiling, his eyes sparkling with warmth, his movements fluid and graceful. "This is Mico," Luna said, her voice a bit softer than before. "He's our newest barista. He's been working here for a few months now. He's a good one." Mico smiled, his eyes meeting Aron and Raven's. "Hi," he said, his voice friendly and approachable. "I'm Mico. Welcome to the team." Aron and Raven nodded, feeling a sense of camaraderie with Mico. Perhaps, they thought, working at the Flower Garden Cafe wouldn't be so .bad after all.
