“She’s not eating Davy,” one of the guards remarked as they pulled out the narrow dish of food from Lana’s cell. It was a rectangular dish with what looked like clear broth and then a separate compartment for the bread. Lana hadn’t touched the vile stuff all day. Her back was to the guard as she bit down on her thumb to keep from turning to him and making a smart ass comeback. She’d seen what this very same man had done to one of the girls earlier who tried to beg for water. Because they only gave them this foul broth to serve as a fluid and as a nutritious meal. The two guards had ended up opening the girl's cell door and had their way with her, both taking turns as the girl screamed.
