“That’s the baby,” Dr. Danvers said, pointing to what looked like a little dot in the middle of the ultrasound machine. “Now let’s try to find a heartbeat…”
Brad stood next to Melanie who was laying in a hospital gown for her very first check-up.
The ultra-sound technician pushed a few buttons and adjusted the ultrasound probe. Melanie winced as she felt the cool gel and the ultra-sound probe pushing against her skin.
“Careful,” Brad warned on a low growl.
But the ultrasound technician was un-phased. She probably got a lot of overprotective fathers in here.
A few seconds later, the furious pitter-patter of a beating heart filled the room. Melanie thought it was the most wonderful sound in the world.
Dr. Danvers chuckled. “Strong little wolf with a strong heart.”
