The car sped through the night, the tension thick in the air. I kept my gaze fixed on the dark landscape rushing past us, my thoughts a chaotic whirlwind. Finally, the car began to slow, and as we rounded a bend, I saw our destination—a secluded clearing surrounded by dense forest. A sense of relief washed over me as I spotted Blake and the rest of Zeke’s men already there, waiting for us. The extraction point was a makeshift camp of sorts.
