I sat in the bathroom on a stool while Vivian and Denise put the finishing touches on my pinned up braids. I decided on a braided bun pulled back, adorned with a gold hair piece. Sapphires and Opal were set into the chain links and pinned into my hair. Opal stud earrings complimented the hair piece beautifully. The Luna ceremony would take place an hour from now. All remaining Red Eye pack members would be here to bare witness. We used to be a pack of 250. Recent events cut our numbers drastically. It was hard not to think of those we lost tonight.
“Priya? What’s wrong?” Denise asked, frowning slightly.
I shook my head, forcing myself to smile.
“Nothing, just thinking too much.”
“Tonight will be perfect, don’t you worry.” Vivian said with a cheerful lilt to her voice.
