Friend Without Time

Chapter 10

                                            Maybe this bullshit is going to be some good s**t then,

                                            But somehow I am on a quest now, to go the distance on my own.

                                            They said that it will be self-fulfilling but the thing is that they don't know when,

                                             But then again it seems that I tend to thrive in the unknown.

I ran and ran as fast as I could. And while doing that I am pretty sure that I broke Usain Bolt record because I was so fast that I am sure nobody saw that I was there. Anyways, I looked around the corridor to check if I was being followed. There was no one, okay now back to pretending that everything is normal and thinking about how I will survive when I get home after school and finally what the f**k my dream was about? But just as I was starting to think about it someone from the right side said; "Why are you trying to run away?" And that caused me to go into a frenzy resulting in me dropping my things including my phone and my laptop. Gosh, I am such a mess today.

"Well for starters you must not be real! You were just a dream!" I said to her sarcastically."Wait, so you genuinely thought that everything that happened was a dream?" she asked confusingly. I just nodded as I knelt down and started picking all of the things that dropped. Thank god none of my papers fell out and while I was doing that the girl started helping me. Well, she is pretty nice, I am guessing she is the nice one in the group. I thanked her and placed the things into my locker. Then after that she immediately said;

"Alright then, so ready to hear everything?" she asked me as she clasped her hand together."I don't have a choice do I?" I asked her back and she just nodded. I sighed before just admitting defeat because honestly, I can't fight this anymore because by this point today nothing is going my way so why don't I just try going with the flow. So I said;

"Alright then, follow me," I said to her and took to the secret place at the back of the school. There as we got to into an abandoned classroom we both sat down on the floor and just stared at each other. I wondered why she was doing that as the only reason why I was doing that was that I had forgotten the name and I was trying to stall time but then I couldn't remember which resulted in me breaking our awkward eye contact and said;"So I am trying to remember your name but I can't so mind telling me what it is?" I asked in the nicest tone I could ask her.

"I know," she replied and that left me confused. What does she mean like that? But before I could say anything she said;

"My gift is that I am able to read minds. And so I can read anybody's," she said and smiled at me. Wow okay, better not say bad things about her when she is around. And as I was thinking that, she giggled a bit. Right, mind reader."I am Evangeline by the way. Remember it from now on," she said to me and I laughed alongside her and nodded before standing up and said; "So...what is this quest or destiny I have to face?" I asked her as I stretched myself."Alright, so since you might be needing to reference it again and again," she said as she gave a little piece of parchment paper.

                                                                    Time has come                                                                  

                                                                     For the child of the 1000 years to rise and take his place in this world                                                                     Stairs of the north are where he will be from

                                                                    Rise for the Ragnorok for it will be hurled

                                                                    And when that happens there will be no some

                                                                    The spawn of Satan will be the new coven

Okay...so note to self, they don't give any special instructions about what I am supposed to do and I have to figure out on my own. Great! So I looked over to Evangeline and asked; "So..where to do we start?" I asked her."That is the thing. I don't know," she replied to me."What! Do you know anything?" I asked in disbelief since she was the one who brought this quest thing onto me."Nope, but on the bright side is that we can solve it together,"  she said as she smiled. Okay cute, but still very annoyed by this point."So you know nothing of any sort, and somehow you are confident that I am the person for the job?" I asked back and that was when she sighed and said; "Look, I and my sisters are not sure about a lot of things pertaining to this destiny and quest thing but the one thing we are sure about is what we heard about in the covens which were this. Fell on the 13th and rose on the 15th. And you arrived in Avelon on the 13th night and as for the rising on the 15th there is a full moon coming tomorrow and honestly, we are thinking that something will happen tomorrow and we need to do something before that happens." she said to me.

"Alright then, let's do it then," I said to her but just as I said to words I heard the bell ring. Oh s**t the warning bell, and I needed to get to class.

"Oh s**t! I need to get to class. Just kill time while you are at it. I will see you here after school." I said to her before dashing out of the ruins and back into the main school compound not waiting for what she had to say next.
