CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Damon frowned with his brows furrowed, he was drenched in his own sweat and he was panting with his chest heaving as he glared at the slime bunnies that had now surrounded him.
One of the slime bunnies tilted it's body to the left and right before bouncing off the patch of grass it had been standing on and towards Damon. Damon inhaled and exhaled as he saw the slime bunny bounce towards him, with the speed he could gather he charged towards the bunny and knocked it back with his shield before attempting to slice it in two.
"Damn it!"
Damon cursed as he missed, the slime bunnies had been attacking him and dodging his attacks while deliberately wearing him out so they could finish him off. That was their strategy.
"Those bunnies might small but they are not stupid, if you aren't careful you'll be down before you know it."
Lena said. She had been sitting on a tree branch ever since the slime bunnies had gathered and she had given the excuse of not wanting to get in Damon's way which slightly annoyed him.
Damon gritted his teeth as he knocked another slime bunny back before trying to land a killing blow, seeing he missed he didn't hesitate to charge forward at the bunny that had just landed on his feet.
Just as he was about to land his killing blow, Damon was knocked down from behind by another bunny and he landed face flat, sword and shield clattering away from him.To think they had played him and had successfully depleted a bit of his health points made him go mad with rage.

The slime bunnies bounced towards Damon with the hope of overwhelming him with their weapons and devouring him where he laid by melting his flesh with their corrosive body.
Damon groaned as he felt the hot stinging pain that came from where he had been hit, the flesh there had a burn mark and it looked bright red. He rose to his feet and immediately grabbed his shield which happened to be the nearest to him. He grabbed the rectangular shield with both of his hands and smacked one of the bunnies that bounced at him with it, sending it flying into a tree.

He had managed to deal damage even though it was little to nothing, it turned out smacking the annoying little creatures with as much force as one could muster worked. Just then an idea struck Damon and nodded knowingly, there was no doubt what he had in mind would work.
'System, distribute three points to speed and three points to strength'
Damon commanded telepathically, by raising those stats he knew he could deal more damage and dodge the attacks the slime bunnies threw at him. For the mean time it was the perfect strategy other than running away like a coward.

Seeing that his strength and speed had increased on the system platform Damon didn't waste time, he ran to the left and then forward before to the right and turning to end up behind the wobbling group of slime bunnies. He raised his shield and smacked a bunny from behind sending it flying and crashing into a tree, the slime bunny flew with precedented speed before crashing into a tree and splattering on the patches of grass with it's core rolling out.
The slime bunnies stayed still for what felt like a minute and so did Damon, he had killed the bunny and even though it was some sort of sneak attack he still hoped it counted.
"Puru."
Damon frowned as he heard the strange sound on of the bunnies made, since he began his battle against the bunnies they had never made a sound. They had only wobbled and bounced but now it seemed they were communicating with eachother.
"Puru."
"Puru."
"Puru."
"Puru."
Damon fell on his knees as he tried to shield his ears from the sound the bunnies made, it was an extremely loud sound that they incessantly kept in repeating making it annoyingly unbearable. Once Damon fell on his knees the bunnies didn't hesitate and four of them charged towards him simultaneously, Damon saw the bunnies bouncing towards him while making their annoying noises.
"Just shut up already you jelly demons!!"
Damon shouted as he grabbed his shield and blocked their attack. The bunnies bounced off the shield and against the floor before bouncing towards him again. This time Damon didn't block their attack instead he smacked them with the shield and sent them popping as their cores rolled on the grass.
Countless notifications popped but Damon didn't bother checking them, the systems voice kept speaking to him yet he ignored, he had to take care of them before looking at his rewards. That was the norm.
After killing the four bunnies, Damon turned to look at the rest of the bunnies and noticed they had gathered around the strongest bunny among them, a level eight green bunny. The green bunny bounced towards one of the bunnies beside it and immediately devoured it by covering it in it's own corrosive body.
The rest of the bunnies looked at the green bunny that had devoured one of their own and they began bouncing away, it was evident that they were trying to run from the green bunny.
"What in the world..."
Damon trailed off as he watched the green bunny devour it's kind with cruelty, it bounced against them and dissolved them with it's own body and soon enough none of the bunnies remained except the green bunny.
It tilted to the left and then to right before it began to undergo a gruesome change, it's body began to increase in size as it shed pieces of it's green jelly like body.
It increased in size till it was approximately five feet tall, it was just as tall as Damon and just as Damon thought that was all it had it began to grow fatter before growing into a slimy abomination Damon couldn't put a name on.
It looked like molten jelly beans if various colours but now it had jelly hands that didn't have fingers and the rest of it's body was a mass of slime.
"PUUURRRRUUU!!"
The slime went, releasing the annoying sound but this time far stronger than the last. A system notification popped up displaying information on the slime creature.

Damon looked at the notifications and looked at the slime abomination, to think this was a creatures complete evolution. He couldn't help but wonder what he would look like once his evolution was complete.
The slime bunny raised it's hand and swinged it knocking Damon away.
Damon groaned as he rolled against the floor, a system notification popped up signalling that his health had been depleted again, he couldn't help but growl in frustration.
He looked around and saw his sword on lying on the floor, he dived for it and picked it up before facing the monstrosity before him.
The bunny bounced off the floor and landed before Damon and then it swinged it's hand smacking him away. Damon hadn't seen it coming and so he fell victim to it's second attack.
The slime bounced again and slowly a gap appeared from the lower region of it's body, it was just about to use it's skill when Damon saw an arrow blast a hole in the creatures body.
The arrow which was accompanied by a whistling sound had come from above and when Damon looked he saw Lena falling from above and landing with her arrows and bow ready.
"Finally, I'm saved."
Damon rejoiced.
