'Aah f**k, this is gonna be a long day."
Damon lamented as he strikes his palm against his forehead.
Mirana's death glare was averted as she looked at Leonard who happened to be smiling sheepishly without worry, it was like he was quite confident Mirana wasn't going to get physical with him but Mirana looked like she was going to blow up from frustration as she frowned and glared altogether.
Damon didn't bother trying to utter a word as he couldn't afford to get squashed by a female dragon who was obviously stronger than him, the group had been formed and had been in the process of training long before Damon arrived. There was no arguing the point that attempting a simple duel would place him on the verge of death.
"Mirana, how nice it is to see your pretty face."
Leonard marveled sarcastically, all three present in the room knew he was saying it to spite Mirana since it felt like they weren't on each other's good books.
Mirana mumbled and grumbled as she glared at the dragon before her. She let slip a faint giggle before brushing back her hair and smirking.
"Drop the act Leo, we both know how sly you are and how obsessed you've become when it comes to making unnecessary compliments. If the thought of me warming your bed dominates your heart then I suggest you speak up, you might just get the chance to get your dreams fulfilled."
Damon averted his gaze from one dragon to another, it was like a war but using words as weapons each attack more destructive than the other.
As the two continued to spite eachother, Lena and the rest of the team walked in putting on serious expressions that made Damon do the same. If he wanted them to take him seriously he had to act serious and show them he was worth the effort they were putting into it.
The team consisted of seven members including Damon. With Lena being the team leader and Leonard being the temporary assistant. Mirana, Fabien and Edmund who was away on a trip nobody wanted to talk about.
"I'm sure I don't have to explain what we are going to be doing today. Our goal is to raise our levels by at least three, nothing less would be accepted."
Lena's voice was firm and it emitted a commanding aura that Damon couldn't shake off. It looked like she was a commander of war, a goddess that commanded her hosts without fear and with pure confidence, confidence so pure it radiated around her and positively took effect of those within her closest circle.
Mirana and Leonard had longed stopped throwing insults and were now nodding their head showing the respect they had for her. Even Damon found himself brimming with confidence.
"Let's move out."
Lena ordered and the team began leaving the room one after the other, Damon stood up and followed after them but then he remembered he didn't have a weapon with which would aid him in his training. He reached out his hand and was about to tap Lena's shoulder when a broad hand was wrapped around his wrist and held in a strong stiffening grip.
Damon met Fabien's grip with a glare as it was the only thing he could do, he wasn't strong enough to break free neither was he inclined to starting a fight. He didn't want to get on their bad side.
"Fabien let him go, he isn't a threat."
'More like I don't count as a threat'
Damon thought within him, he really wanted them to take him seriously as what they thought of him would come to affect him later in the future. The training session was a rare opportunity he would never get again, he had to give it his all and to do that he really needed a weapon.
"I just wanted to tell you that I don't have a weapon, I can't really fight without one."
The look on their faces counted as priceless, they all looked confused and puzzled like what he had said didn't make the slightest bit of sense. Damon already had a hunch on what their question would be and he had what seemed like the right excuse to get them off his trail.
" If you don't have a weapon then how did you murder the elder."
Fabien asked. His voice was thick and his brows furrowed so much that it made him look like a grumpy old gnome. Damon could have taken a step back if he was given the option to but he couldn't afford to look uninterested in what was about to happen, he had to radiate the confidence within him, of there was any.
"I didn't exactly murder him, I slayed him there is an obvious difference. And I kind of lost my weapon and gear within the fight."
Damon declared while leaving a bit of a lie within his declaration. Fabien's brows furrowed all the more and he snorted, Lena closed her eyes and shook her head disappointedly while Mirana and Leonard looked at him suspiciously like they knew he was lying.
"You guys can relax, he isn't lying. I literally found him naked in the elders layer."
"Oh God!"
"How nasty!"
"You are a disappointment to men everywhere!"
The teams comments felt like knives stabbed into Damon's chest with brutal force, there was no mercy and it looked like their opinion of him was really deteriorating. He had to fix this and make them acknowledge him, he had to.
"Come along, we shall buy you a weapon that should suit your needs. With that you should be able to raise your level even more and show is the power of the elder dragon within you."
"Thanks, I appreciate your kind gesture."
They approached the dull receptionist that sat behind the table with his nose buried in a book, Lena dropped the key and a few blue scales. The receptionist looked at the items sprawled across the table before him, he then looked up at the group of armed dragons and one human whom he didn't pay any attention to.
"For a month."
Damon's jaw fell open, he couldn't believe he was being asked to stay at the inn for a whole month while the rest of the team were all residing in a special quarters built behind reenforced gates and trained guards. They were living the life.
"Come on now Damon, you shouldn't look so disappointed. Train harder and prove yourself."
Leonard said sheepishly. Was he trying to spite him like he did Mirana or was he being sincere? Damon couldn't tell but he knew Leonard was right, he had to prove himself.
