Damon gulped as he looked at the magnificent yet utterly terrifying creature that was above. It was beautiful and had fierce blue eyes, it was covered in white scales that were adored with black spots and it's massiveness couldn't just remain ignored.
The dragon took it's gaze off Damon and looked at the body of the elder dragon covered in it's own blood, for a moment Damon could have sworn that he had seen tears sting the corners of the dragon's eyes.
It settles it's sight on Damon once again and glared at him, the fear Damon felt at that moment was unrivaled. The dragon raised it's head and roared before flapping it's wings and diving down into the lair, it was headed for Damon with great speed as it parted it's mouth.
"Oh s**t!"
Damon cursed as he began to run, a dragon diving for his prey and parting it's mouth o my meant one thing and I this case it was that he was about to be roasted chicken.
Damon ran as fast as he could, stretching out his leg to cover ground. If he could make it into one of those tunnels the dragon wouldn't be able to get too him and he would get to keep his life. He tilted his head to see the dragon land on it's white scaled limbs and fully open it's mouth, he took note of the blue glow that was building up intensity in the creatures chest.
"An elemental dragon and an ice breather at that, perhaps I won't die as fast as I feared."
Damon screamed at the top of his voice as he laughed and increased his speed as the dragon breathed a large blue beam that covered whatever and wherever it touches in ice, it shook it's head before roaring and flapping it's wings after which it gave chase.
The lair was large and so the dragon was able to move around without hindrance, it's beam of ice had lowered the intensity of the heat Damon had been secretly battling with. The black soil he ran on didn't seem to do him any good as well as it slowed him down bit by bit.
"I never knew running to save one's life was so exhilarating, I should do this more often."
Damon screamed and a system notification that caught him off guard popped up instantly.
{Side quest unlocked: Survive by any means possible.}
{Reward: Common clothes}
{The faster the the side quest is completed the higher the increase in percentage of obtaining bonus rewards.}
Damon read the notifications swiftly, he smiled as he closed his eyes before opening them and muttering.
"This system sure knows how to get me pumped."
As he ran a thought suddenly hit Damon for the first time since the dragon had given chase, he had been running on foot for a few minutes now and the dragon had been been flying. Naturally it was supposed to have gotten to him by now but it hasn't, where is it?.
The dragon landed a few meters away from Damon with a thud, dust rose from the earth around as it stomped it's foot and roared. Damon didn't need telling that it was angry as it swinged it's tail with force striking Damon in the abdomen and knocking him away.
Damon crashed into a pillar shattering it as soon as he made impact, his mouth was instantly filled with the iron taste of his own blood before he coughed it up.
{-30 HP}
Damon felt the harsh rough edges of the dark earth tear at his skin and his bones hit rocks. He hadn't seen it coming, he thought he was having fun and he didn't bother to remain cautious, he had been enjoying this new dream of his he hadn't considered the dangers involved.
The dragon approached Damon where he was lying in a heap and a little puddle of his own blood, it parted it's mouth and it's chest glowed brightly blue. Damon was about to be frozen up in a game and probably smashed to pieces, he had never thought about this happening.
"I don't want to die, I really don't want to die."
Damon said as tears streamed down his face where he laid, there were other privileges Damon wished he had apart from living in a world where game addicts weren't looked down upon and called delusional, a world where they could play games till the hair on their heads turn gray. One of this was the privilege of living forever, he had always feared death.
Everyday in highschool he would get bullied for liking games too much, he would get punched in the guts and kicked in the face having to return home in bruises and nickels and he had hoped that maybe one day he might just get the ability to cheat death. This was a day as such when the ability would prove useful.
The dragon's mouth opened up wider the the glow in it's chest intensified, the anger in it's eyes was ever present and the aura it gave off reeked of frustration and pure rage. Was it angry because Damon was here in the lair?, was it angry because Damon and his party members had killed the dark scaled dragon that was supposed to be the final boss?. Whatever it's reasons were, it didn't look like it was going to let him off the hook.
Just as the dragons mouth parted completely and the blue beam inched closer to being released an idea struck Damon, it was a stupid idea and a theory that was probably wrong but if he was right he could save himself.
"I.."
Damon started but the dragon roared as it raised it's head and shot a glare at Damon. Damon shivered as he felt that awfully familiar sensation run down his spine, fear. He breathed in and out before raising his gaze to meet the dragon's glare.
"I am the successor of the 'Thorne' bloodline, I have inherited the bloodline of 'Thorne'."
Damon's voice was tainted with desperation, he didn't want to do die. He had just gotten into the world of Dragon Dynamics and he hadn't even had his fair share of fun but out of nowhere a white scaled elemental dragon shows up and tries to kill him, he had lost a significant amount of his HP points and he wasn't even prepped for a situation like this .
The dragon's expression was still fierce and it's mouth was still opened, it had no intention of backing down.
Damon clenched his fists where he laid on the ground naked, he was in pains and he could barely walk talkless of getting up and dodging attacks from the obviously pissed off dragon. He had worked up a theory that the dragon wanted to kill him because the elder dragon was dead and he was found near it's corpse. If the white scaled dragon was somehow connected to the dragon he and his party members had slain then he might as well tell it he had inherited it's bloodline.
"You probably don't care what I have to say and won't stop until I'm dead but you have to know that I have inherited the bloodline of the dark scaled elder dragon 'Thorne'."
The dragon growled before closing it's mouth and it was instantly engulfed in a bright blinding light, it gradually began to reduce in size and the light grew even brighter.
"What the heck!"
Damon says as the light gets brighter before diminishing and revealing a whole new creature that now stood before him, the white scaled dragon was nowhere to be seen and all that remained in it's place was a young lady with dark hair that was definitely combed out and onto her shoulders. She was wearing a white dress that looked nothing like what Damon had ever laid his eye on, her elf-like ears were long and the their had a milky white colour like her scales. Her fingers were white and spotted with black up until her wrist and lastly she had a long slender white tail that she couldn't help but wag.
"The dragon turned into a lady!!"
