CHAPTER FIVE

"Activate system." "System online..." "System active...!" Damon sighed, he had been trying to get the system out of wherever it was but it simply wasn't working, was there some sort of magic word he was missing?. Damon closed his eyes and streched while groaning, he couldn't tell how he had been down in the cell but according to his analysis it couldn't be more than a few hours or perhaps a day or two. He was beginning to feel a sharp headache too, was it the stress or what?, whatever it was he couldn't explain and it seemed like his head would pop and paint the cell's walls in a beautiful colour of crimson red and brain matter. "Damn it, where is the system when I need it." Damon muttered in defeat, he was still locked up and he was hungry, his stomach had been growling for a while know and even a dummy would know he was hungry. To think pain, hunger, sadness, desperation and a whole lot of other emotions would follow him into the game world. Damon stood up in frustration and was about to bang his fists against the wall when a system interface unexpectedly popped up. {Welcome player, to the world of Dragon Dynamics.} "Damn system coming online at a time like this what took you so long?" Damon asked in rage, his brows were furrowed and he was biting his lower lip. There was no need to ask before directly knowing that he was seething with rage. {The response to your request is unavailable at the moment.} Damon sighed, it was just a system incapable of having feelings or emotions so there was no need to get mad at it. He cleared his throat and pointed a finger at the interface as he proceeded to continue his rantings. "Anyways, I survived the she-dragon's attack and I expect I have a reward. I really can't believe I have to remind, there's something called an inbox you know." {Inbox is being created and modified. Kindly be on stand by.} "Inbox request?" {The inbox feature has been created.} {You have two new messages in your inbox, would you like to view them?} "Yes." Damon replied, to think he could create features by just commanding...it was great. Now that he thought about it there were still a few things missing according to the mangas and novels he had read back then. For example the system users could talk to their systems telepathically. "System why can't I use the telepathy feature?" {The telepathy feature is being created. Kindly be on stand by.} {The telepathy feature has been created.} "Nice." Damon muttered satisfied, he had kept his voice low to avoid eavesdroppers but he couldn't hide his satisfaction this time around. The system had created the two features he had coincidentally ordered it to create, surely he could ask it to create other features but for now he wanted to check his inbox. 'open inbox.' Damon commanded in through his thoughts, instantly the system opened Damon's inbox and displayed the two messages he was yet to view. He tapped on the first one and read through it. {Congratulations. You have completed your first side quest and have survived the dragon's attack. You have been awarded common clothes.} "Finally." Damon said in relief, this was one of the reasons he had wanted the system online. He didn't want to wear the rags given to him by the guards because they stinked and looked filthy, they were basically rags. 'Unequip rags and equip common clothes.' Damon watched as the rags vanished into thin air and the common clothes he had been awarded appeared on him. Having a system was truly comfortable wasn't it?. Now for the second reason Damon wanted the system online, it didn't occur to him until he felt the sharp pain hit him once again and this time more sever than the last. He yelped in pain as he grabbed his head with both of his hands, he gritted his teeth as he groaned and grunted. The pain Damon felt as at that moment was so intense he was forced to his knees. {Players mental defense is being breached. Forcing log out.} Damon opened his eyes slightly and the last thing he saw were several metal footwear that belonged to the guards and a special pair of white shoes that belonged to the she-dragon. {Player has been successfully logged out.} __________________________________________ Damon opened his eyes, he could see light. He groaned as he raised his head from the hard surface beneath it and looked around to observe his surroundings, the last thing he remembered was the excruciating pain he had gone experienced and the shoes alongside boots that belonged to the guards and ...the she-dragon!. "Where am I? System log me into Dragon Dynamics, they were just about to get me out of that hell hole. Log me in now!" Damon panicked as he commanded the system, he was very sure of what he had seen and he didn't want to miss an opportunity like that. If they didn't find him where they left him their suspicions would increase and he might get killed. {Log in request denied.} "What do you mean log in request denied log me in right now! I can't afford to die." {Log in request denied. Time flows differently in the game world compared to the real world.} {Once you log back into Dragon Dynamics you shall pick up from where you stopped as every action is saved and every decision engraved.} Damon sighed, he was panting and he was drenched in sweat. He was wearing his dark shirt and shorts which meant he was in his room. Looking at the gaming screen he rubbed his face and scratched his head before turning off the gaming system. Damon then proceeded to standing up and heading out of his room, it was still dark and he didn't know the time. "Ugh, my head still slightly hurts I think I'll just go to sleep." {Logging into Dragon Dynamics places strain on the players defensive brain barrier. As a result you had to be forcefully logged out.} "I see. Is there any way to increase my mental defense?." {The players mental defense can be increased by playing mental games and by eating healthy.} {By eating even one meal packed with the right vitamins, proteins and other nutrients a player can successfully log into the game without experiencing strain on the brain.} That's right, Damon was never a fan of eating healthy. He had always enjoyed eating junk that he never cared what would happen to him if he didn't stop eating junk. Now he had to wait for hours before logging into Dragon Dynamics once again. "What a bummer." Damon said tiredly, he yawned as he made his way to the kitchen. He might as well grab some salad and a bottle of Greek yogurt from the fridge, maybe that counted as eating healthy. Just as Damon came out of his and closed the door behind him he heard a soft and calm voice call his name. "Damon. Damon!"
