CHAPTER SIX

"Damon. Damon." Damon turned swiftly and looked behind him but there was no one there, he sighed. He was probably just hallucinating afterall he was still mentally weak. He moved his hands into his pocket and didn't hesitate to move towards the kitchen, once he walked into the kitchen he opened the fridge and found what he was looking for. A bowl of salad and a few bottles of Greek yogurt, there were also a few bottles of mineral water and a few other things like beer and the likes. Damon took out what he needed and closed the fridge, he grabbed a stool sat down and began to eat. "This is actually good." Damon mused as he shoved the salad into his mouth bite after bite, although junk food and snacks tasted nice the salad had a much more original taste. He dropped the spoon and grabbed the Greek yogurt, he hesitated for a moment before opening it and taking sip. "What is this?, have I been missing out on all the good stuff?." Damon asked himself, he couldn't believe that salad could be so good and a yogurt could be so satisfying when cold. All his life he had only been interested in playing games and eating junk food, that habit of his had stopped him from being what his parents had wanted him to become. All his life he was all about becoming his own person that he must have failed to see what was really before him. {Mental fortitude increased by 12%.} {Eat more healthy food to reach a 100%.} "So soon?" Damon asked with a mouth full of salad. He thought it would take a few more meals to increase his mental fortitude but it had already increased up to twelve percent, at this rate he would be strong enough to probably last a whole day within the game. "Would you eat more slowly and stop shoving everything down your throat like a pig. It's disgusting and infuriating." At first Damon jumped to his feet obviously spooked by the voice but when he turned to see who was speaking he saw his elder sister standing a few meters away from him with a scowl on her face. The surprised look that was plastered on his face was immediately replaced with a frown, to think his elder sister was awake at a time like this, he would expect nothing less. "What are you doing here?" Damon asked as he sat down on the stool and shoved a spoon full of salad into his mouth, he grabbed the bottle of yogurt and drank it before gulping down the whole thing. "What do you mean what am I doing here?, I have a life and a job unlike you you know." Damon shot her a glare before grabbing the bowl of salad and the bottle of yogurt and walking off towards his room. Since he became a shut in and a game addict his sister, Diana had always looked at him like a waste. She had once called him a mistake and a waste of precious sperm and that had made him mad, but as he grew up he found ways to bottle up his anger and ignore her. He wasn't sure the sort of job she had but he knew she had a job. Once he got into his room he sat down, placed the bowl and bottle on the table and picked up his phone. He really didn't have friends he could talk to and so he had gone ahead to immerse himself in more games and mangas alongside animes. His life was undoubtedly a s**t hole that no sane man or woman wanted to get sucked into. "I suck." Damon whispered as he ate another spoon of salad. ____________________________________________ Damon opened his eyes, it was almost completely dark in his room and the only lights that lit up his room were led lights. His dark extra large curtains weren't opened up and so the rays of the sun wasn't able to get in. He sat up in bed and streched, his head still ached slightly but it wasn't intense enough to keep him in bed all day. He yawned as he got out of bed, shoved his feet into his old pair of flat slippers and grabbed his phone and stepped out of his room. It was morning but it was undoubtedly as dark as an abyss within his comfort zone. Once he got to the living room he saw his father seated on the couch with the mornings paper in his hand, the TV was turned on and there was a football match being displayed on the screen, his mother was in the kitchen slicing vegetables while his sister was nowhere to be seen, not like he cared anyways. He sat on the couch beside his father and turned on his phone, he tapped on the Google icon and ran a search for healthy foods he could order for breakfast. As a game addict he had created hundreds of gaming accounts for multiple games and regularly sold most of them after making them op. The sales of gaming accounts was like his job, his parents never really bothered to find out the source of his income but he never ate anything within the house due to the fact that he preferred junk food to healthy meals and that was not acceptable within the family. After searching up healthy meals he could eat, Damon walked out of the house and towards a restaurant that wasn't too far from his house. "I am so tired." Damon said as he yawned and streched, he began to tap earnestly on his phones screen trying to find potential clients who would buy his gaming accounts, now that he had Dragon Dynamics he no more longer needed to play games as they weren't as extraordinary as his last adventure. Damon's hidden quest. "What would you like to have sir?" Damon took his gaze off his phone's screen and looked at the teenage girl before him, she had blonde curly hair and she was quite short. There was a red hat on her head which had the restaurant's mascot icon on it, an animated fat chef holding a knife and a fork. Damon stopped observing her and showed her the image that was displayed on his phones screen, it was what he would like to eat but he didn't know what to call it neither could he describe it. "I'm sorry, I don't understand what you're trying to pass across." The blonde said with a puzzled expression, Damon sighed in disappointment, not that his disappointed was directed towards her but more towards himself. It was his fault for not properly engaging with the outside world. "I am sorry, I would like to place an order for the meal in the image please." "Oh. You would like to place an order for a breakfast burrito with scrambled eggs, black beans and avocado?." "Yes and a Greek yogurt. I'll have it to go." "Kindly wait a moment, I'll get your order ready." After waiting a few minutes the blonde haired girl finally showed up behind her holding Damon's order, he collected it paid and walked out of the restaurant with his breakfast in hand.
