Chapter 2: New Home

We drove for what seemed like hours when we finally got to the driveway of our new house it was already dark out, I saw my dad waving to us then I saw the house. It was bigger than our old apartment, and bigger than our old house here, but I was excited about this fresh start. My older brother Silas came out, he was 6'3 and 21 years of age and a college student but still living with mom and dad, he had hair that reminded me of members of a kpop band, and dark brown eyes and had the looks of a Korean drama star.

"Nice to see you made it in one piece mom." He jokingly said to her

"Well, your sister made it here too Silas."

He awkwardly hugged me, and moved back to grab another box marked 'Silas Stuff' and took it inside, dad hugged me tightly and smiled at me while grabbing two boxes marked 'Kitchen and Bathroom'

"Thanks, Bro." I thought to myself and grabbed a medium-sized box marked 'Living room' and a small box and walked up to the porch and inside and immediately felt the warmth of the heat as I entered the house, dropped the medium sized box in the dining room and put the small mysterious box on top and went back out to grab more boxes until it was about midnight and boxes were everywhere within the house.

"Whew we're finally done, Silas and Annabel you can choose your own rooms, just don't start a fistfight." Dad said to us

Silas runs up the stairs and opens the first door on the left, a medium size room with blue wallpaper and light brown wood floors a large bed and a semi-large closet. I opened the door towards the end of the hallway and saw a fairly good sized room with black carpet and pink walls with a bay window with a cushioned red seat and pillow. I sat on the bed and breathed a sigh of happiness when the door opened and heard my brother say,

"Wow nice room you have here, I guess you're claiming this, right?"

I sat up and nodded in a smart-assish way, and he looked around more and noticed the bay window and it immediately caught his attention as he ran to it and sat on it.

"Wow now this is bitching, my room doesn't even have this, well nice grab Anna."

"Your room is awesome too Silas, I especially love the clouds on your wall." I jokingly say

"Ok enough you two, now that we have established who is in each room can we get unpacked or shall we wait till tomorrow when you two rush through every box looking for your stuff before school."

We both groan but reluctantly go back downstairs to grab our boxes and bring every box of ours to our respected rooms until our rooms were covered in boxes, then we had to help mom and dad unpack the rest of the stuff till our house was finally homely. Silas passed out on the couch and I tiredly went back to my room, and slowly unpacked a few boxes that I would need for school such as clothing, backpack, laptop, books, pencils and such before stumbling on an old photo of myself with an ex-boyfriend, Carter Fredrick an asshole who left me on my 16th birthday, I grabbed the picture and put it in a box full of things of his and shoved it in the back of my closet. As I was closing my closet my dad came in and sat on my bed,

"Sweetie, I know your upset about the move but think of it this way, you get to reunite with childhood friends, I heard from a little birdie that someone was gonna come over tomorrow after school for your birthday."

"Who?"

"I'm not telling you, you'll find out tomorrow, for now, try to get some sleep, ok? You have a big day ahead of you."

He gets up and hugs me tightly before leaving and closing the door, I finally laid down in my bed and within seconds I was dead asleep. I woke up an hour later, my eyes adjusting to the darkness as I quickly realize I'm at the new house, I lay back down in my bed and shiver as I pull the blanket on me, I close my eyes and try to think of anything to put me to sleep but it's useless, I opened my eyes back up and sit on my bay window seat and look outside the window, the streets were illuminated by the street lights and the forest close by which was too dark to see though the tops of the trees were visible from my bedroom window. I looked closely into the forest and notices a few pairs of glowing eyes small yellow dots in the forest, and soon they faded into the pitch black forest

Hmm I wonder what animal that was

I thought to myself and I continued to look around the area, It was about 3 am when I began yawning loudly, I slowly stood up and climbed back into my bed and under the warm covers and slowly closed my eyes and was back asleep, my dream began in a dark forest, I was walking around looking for something when I heard the snap of a branch, I turned around quickly and saw a black shadow quickly move behind a tree and my heart began to race and what it was so I began running away from the shadow. Feeling the wind hit my face hard as well as multiple hard raindrops as I tried my hardest to get away from whatever was chasing me, getting closer till it's breathe was on the back of my neck, and it's arms reaching around me, grabbing at my feet trying to trip me up till the edge of the forest was in my sights, relief suddenly showered over me as I knew I'd be safe. I kept running until I finally reached the edge of the forest and I quickly turned around to see what was chasing me when I heard a loud buzzing and looked around wondering what that noise was when I jolted up in my sleep and was suddenly awake.
