There was a small café down the street I’ve been to a few times with Ruby. I got a hot tea with a bagel and Jordan got a scone with a coffee. We sat down at one of the window booths that overlooked the busy streets of the city. “So, why exactly do you want to decorate his house?” Jordan asked as he took a bite of his scone. I wasn’t really expecting him to make conversation and I’d be lying if I said it didn’t take me by surprise. “You’ve seen his Villa,” I said, fighting a laugh as I sipped my tea. “It’s dark and gloomy. It needs a little more life.” “He’s a vampire. What did you expect?” I was confused by his statement. It didn’t make sense that he was against vampires. At least, that’s how it seemed.
