“You two will have to take extra precautions from now on,” Andrew said.
“Richard is arranging for beefed-up security at Gran’s,” I said, “and we’ll continue to watch our backs.”
“I’ve been doing that every time I leave the hospital,” Philip added. “That’s how I noticed the van following me.”
Andrew rose from his chair and said, “Emily is waiting for me to take her to dinner, so I must be going. I just had to see for myself that everything was under control.” He shook our hands and left.
Philip looked at me and said, “I can’t wait for midnight. Maybe I could prop a chair up against the door right now.”
I had to smile. “If anyone found the door barricaded, they would just break it down.”
“Perhaps, but by the time they did, I could have gotten you off at least twice.”
