CHAPTER THREE

****Some decisions are made before you can even realize the effect but then, what if the effect is bad while wishing for good?*****

It was the morning of my eighteenth birthday and as usual,I thought the morning would be like always. Waking up to the knock of Jude on my door instead of an alarm clock, something I wonder why I even have it. getting Jude to Nag me into getting ready for school, going through the decision of looking for what to put on and then deciding where to have my party.

On my birthday last year, I celebrated it at a new hotel that just opened up as I would rather not have anyone at my house for anything at all, it ended badly anyways as we all ended up in detection center because one of the party guest came in with drugs and the police got an information, I had to proof I don't do drugs by having a blood test and thank God non was found in it at that moment I was scared what if someone slipped some in my drinks?.

I was asleep when my phone started ringing at the early hours of the day, I rolled over at of excitement thinking maybe it was one of my crew who had called to wish me a happy birthday but to my surprise it was our family lawyer. What could he want? it's not like he had ever called me this early before, But I reluctantly picked up the call, I wanted to know what this call was about.

"Good morning and a Happy birthday to you Master Eros, I hope you slept well? today is a wonderful day and you should celebrate it, but don't forget the meeting at 4pm today"

he said rather excited and I was surprised why? he really didn't call to wish me any happy birthday but to remind me about the meeting at 4 and with that a little sense of worry came upon me..

"Good morning to you too sir and thank you for the wish, it is unlike you to call me this early on my birthday, what could be the change"

I said while trying to get him to talk

"you are eighteen now and a full blown adult, that's a new change and I really hope you give away your childish attitude towards life"

he said

"If you say me being extra careful about people is me being childish then I want to be a child forever"

I said sounding annoyed by his statement

"You think? well that's up to you to decide, do have a wonderful day"

he said as he was about to hang up the call,

"Wait!, please hold on, what is this meeting all about again? if I may ask?"

"you have to come to the meeting to find out, and If I were you I would do anything to not miss it and also have a lot of fun before you come, it will help you bye"

with this he ended the call, without giving me a chance to reply, what is this meeting about? why is it so important? I can't help but think about it, I didn't want to be distributed by it but I guess I have to be,.just then the door pushed open..

"You don't knock anymore Jude? are you trying to piss me off too on my birthday?"

I said stil looking at my phone and didn't even raise my head to check who it was.

"Oh its me Eros"

the voice said, this made me raise my head because the voice was something I haven't heard in a while. I turned to look at who it could be and it was Cindy, shocked by her I dropped my phone and it hit the ground. Trying to pretend like i wasn't surprised I responded...

"What are you doing here Cindy? I thought you traveled out of the country?"

I said Trying to pretend like i wasn't surprised I reached out for my phone on the ground and picked it up and the screen was already a bit cracked...

"Oh f**k, I just got this, why do you always have to appear to mess up my life"

I said angry at the sight of my damaged phone or was I angry over something else?

"Hmm, You were just surprised to see me why blame your mistake on me? that's what you always do, anyways I didn't come to have a fight with you, I just came to wish you a happy birthday"

she said resting her body on the door as it was open..

"Close my door if you want to talk to me, or leave and thank you for the wish anyways"

I said while rolling my eyes

"No! I was already leaving anyways I don't want anyone thinking we have anything before you denial me like you did back then, bye see you down stairs when you eventually come down"

she said raised her body from the rest position, walked out of my room and closed the door.

"Can this day get any worst? all I wished for was a happy day,why is the universe trying to piss me off today, I bet there is more coming"

I decided to get up and take my bath, I needed to get a new phone I can't use no broken screen phone this is all thanks to Cindy..

Cindy was my class mate I'm school up until last year, and the sad thing is she is the daughter of Jude my butler, I had something for her like real something but my decision not to have anyone too close enough to hurt me pushed her away,She was the only one I ever called a friend, and my affection towards her started growing. She was like an angel towards me, she would listen to all my rant with out trying to blame me and later would make correction about it, I was ready to change for her but I denied her after showing that much affection, this made her the laughing stock of the whole school,people would make jokes about how she wanted to gold dig her way to riches but I knew her and what her intention towards me was and decided not to do or say anything in her defence this was before I knew she was the daughter of Mr Jude, she almost lost her life because they bullied her everyday and she had to leave school, I didn't know where she went to and I didn't want to ask this is the first time since last year I have seen her, I was surprised at the same time happy at the same time sad but something have definitely changed about her but then again what was she doing in my house? did she come for a visit? or was it for my birthday? could it be all a coincidence? I would have to go down stairs to find out..

It was around ten am did I decided to go down stairs and to my surprise a birthday party was already in place, with lots of decoration and cakes.

"Happy birthday sir,"

Jude said as I step my foot on the sitting room floor,

"We thought you would never come down"

said my uncle's daughter Jessica

"We didn't want to ruining your surprise"

Said Jaden my uncle's son

"happy birthday day Dear Eros, it would have been nice to have my brother and his wife here to see how grown their son have become"

said my uncle...

I was surprised by this act and I was almost moved to tears, from before it was only Jude who would make a very small slice of cake and then bring it to me to blow off the candle, although I never showed it but I looked forward to it for the past few years he had being working for me..

"Well well well, what a nice surprise, what's the occasion? are y'all planing to sell me off?"

I said acting like I didn't care about what they had.

"Must you always be an as*h*le? Pardon my manners dad and sir"

said Cindy,it was like she was waiting to say that all this while..

"Yes I am an as*h*le, you should know that by now why are you acting like you surprised?"

I said knowing this will hurt her but I wasn't ready to loss this battle.

"you should become better now that you are an adult, grow up and live a life"

she said and with this I knew I couldn't reply her.

"It wasn't my idea to do this it was your cousins, I hope you will appreciate it as they have done nothing to wrong you"

my uncle said, in as much as what he had said was right, I still would never accept it, I don't want to have any thing to do with him or his family.

"so where is aunty? I do not see her?I think she is the only one who got the memo of not wanting to see y'all"

I said mockingly..

"she will be here eventually, just don't count her out just yet"

my uncle replied with this I knew something bad is going to happen, my uncle's wife do not come near this house even if it was her last place to survive, but her coming here means what ever it is that meeting is about is going to end badly...
