As we approached the territory gate, Callum slowed the car, and a guard approached the door. As Callum pushed the button for the window, the guard took a defensive stance, saying, “Does the Alpha know you’re bringing a vampire onto the territory?!”
“Chill out, Richard. He’s with Nikki, and the Alpha is well aware. He and the other wolf are part of Nikki’s protection detail,” Callum said, and rolled his eyes at the guard.
“Sorry, I must have missed the memo,” the guard replied. Then he nodded to the guard manning the gate mechanism, and the gate opened.
