The mansion was silent that morning, except for the faint hum of the city outside. I had grown restless, my mind spinning with thoughts of the events that had begun yesterday. Alexander didn’t speak much, but his presence was heavy, almost suffocating.
Finally, he broke the silence.
“Are you ready?” he asked. His voice was calm, but the intensity behind it made my stomach twist.
“For what?” I asked, though I had a feeling I already knew.
“To remind them who they humiliated,” he said simply. “Lesson one in revenge: the smallest blow can leave the deepest mark.”
We drove to a gala Vanessa was attending—a “charity event” she had been boasting about for weeks. I stayed close behind Alexander, watching him scan the room with sharp, calculating eyes.
Vanessa was there, sparkling in a designer gown, laughing at something someone whispered. She didn’t see us… yet.
Alexander leaned in and whispered, “Watch closely. I’m about to make her regret today.”
Within moments, whispers began to spread. Alexander had sent subtle messages to influential guests, exposing Vanessa’s lies about a business deal she had boasted about. Slowly, the crowd’s laughter shifted to shocked murmurs. People’s expressions turned from admiration to suspicion.
Vanessa froze. Her face went pale. She tried to cover it with a laugh, but it sounded forced, hollow.
I felt a strange thrill watching her panic. But at the same time… I realized something deeper.
Alexander didn’t just humiliate people for fun. He calculated every move, like a chess master.
Later, away from prying eyes, Alexander turned to me. “Do you see? Power isn’t loud. It’s subtle. It’s calculated. It’s inevitable.”
I nodded, absorbing his words. “And this is only the beginning?”
His eyes darkened. “Yes. Tomorrow, it gets personal.”
I shivered. He wasn’t joking.
That night, back at the mansion, I tried to process everything. Alexander stood near the window, staring into the darkness outside.
“You’re… different from anyone I’ve ever known,” I said hesitantly.
He didn’t look at me. “Good. Don’t forget it.”
I felt my pulse quicken. He was dangerous, yes… but I couldn’t deny there was something magnetic about him.
“And me?” I asked, almost whispering. “Where do I fit in your plan?”
He finally turned to me, his eyes sharp. “You’re learning. That’s enough for now. But soon… you’ll need to act.”
As I lay in bed, I couldn’t shake the image of Vanessa’s panicked face, nor Alexander’s piercing gaze.
Something told me this was just the first strike.
And that next time… it wouldn’t just be about embarrassment.
It would be destruction.
