ISOLDE It’s still dark, unbearably hot, and lonely. I don’t know how long I’ve been stuck in the truck, but each moment feels like hell. I’m exhausted. Each breath comes harder than before, like my lungs have been frozen for too long. I had passed out moments ago after a strong wave and a long stretch of struggle.
