I blink awake, stirring drowsily as light filters in, hurting my eyes, and the sounds of my surroundings begin to fill the room. Aching all over, muggy-headed. Confused and disoriented for a second until familiar wallpaper and the ceiling fan come into focus, and I recognize my old room in the manor. I don’t know how I got here or what’s going on. “Mom…” I croak, raspy with fatigue and unsure what happened. My memory is foggy, and as I have just woken, I'm so disoriented. “Honey, we’re right here… Dad, too.” “And me.” Rema’s voice echoes a little further back, and I blink again, fully stirring to focus on the concern etched on the faces around me. Aunt Carmen is by the door, and Aunt Meadow stops pacing the floor behind Rema as they all turn and stare at me. I can sense more people out
