“Congratulations. I’m so proud of you. All your hard work paid off, and now you’re free…. What are your plans for the summer?” Rema Sierra raises a glass, eyes on me and smiling widely, holding back no pride for graduating today. Sloshing around the white wine we opted for to mark the occasion, I think she’s had one too many. Sitting at the huge dining table set up for this celebratory dinner, I'm surrounded by Mom, Dad, Rema, Doma Radar, Aunt Meadow, Uncle Cesar, and Toya with her little brother, Tye.
