Losing Our Queen 1.2

Alex's POV ... Before The Wedding ... I took off out the back door after my mama got on to me. When Joel is in a panic, I love messing with him. I walked down the path to the community building where the party would be held after the wedding and changing of the pack ceremony. I saw RJ and Rosie over in the corner of the room at the snack table. RJ was always snacking on something. He was just like uncle James. If they didn't have the metabolism of a werewolf, they'd probably weigh a ton. I heard someone and looked over as Leo and Dame walked over. Leo was fussing about how Dame's cummerbund was twisted and he needed to pull his hair back. I just grinned and shook my head. These two reminded me so much of Joel and Garrick. Poor Dame got himself a Joel. I snickered to myself. I turned around to get a good look at the decorations in the building. I was amazed at how beautiful it had all turned out. Beth's favorite color is lavender. So, of course, it would be our wedding colors. She got the girls and my mother to wear blush pink to tie it all together. She should be an interior designer. I don't mind at all because, to me, this is Beth's day. I'm the lucky one that gets to marry my best friend and the love of my life. I don't care if we get married in a sewer tunnel as long as I get to marry her. The place was decorated to look like a barn. Mama even had the doors replaced with barn doors. She said if Beth wanted it, then Beth got it and she didn't lie. It really had that country farm feel to it. The middle chandelier had lavender wisteria hanging from it swooping over to all the other lighting fixtures hanging from the ceiling. Mama and my aunts kept going on about how it looked like their wedding. Beth took different things from their weddings and Pinterest to make it exactly how she wanted it. They were all going crazy for months planning and buying things. Kind of makes me glad I'm the dude here. "Are you ready to go out?" RJ said, interrupting my thoughts. "It's time to lock down your lady for good." "Absolutely, dude. Been waiting for 3 years." I laughed at him. "We all have." Rosie smiled. She spoke so softly. Beth and Rosie both spoke quietly and gave off a sweet, delicate appearance. It was, of course, all a trick. Rosie and Beth were 2 of the most lethal women I knew. Beth learned magic from my Gammy, my mama, and Hecate herself. Mama said she would be the next Supreme since she didn't have a daughter. She could cut down any man with a snap of her finger if she wanted to. She was also trained by werewolves to fight in hand-to-hand combat. Rosie was a supernatural miracle herself. She was the 1st hybrid that owned both a wolf and a lycan. She was trained in all three forms. We have all grown up knowing about the war that could possibly happen and that my mama may be the one we are fighting. But, today, we are celebrating. It may be years before it happens or it may never happen. "Well, not all of us ran off and eloped as soon as we found our mate." Leo laughed at her. "Like you can talk, babe." Dame chuckled. "We had our hand fastening like 3 days later. So, by old vampire law, we are married." "I know. My mama was so mad. But, we promised her a wedding later on. Let's just all go to the field. It's about time for the show to start." RJ said. "I'm ready to be beta." We all walked out to the huge field where there were hundreds of chairs and people being seated by omegas. The chairs were white wood that folded up. There was a lavender ribbon strung across the back of the chairs down each aisle with a little blush pink flower arrangement in the center of each chair where the ribbon connected. We had our family and close friends here for our wedding and a lot of alphas and their lunas here for the changing of the pack ceremony. I know my mother will cry a lot tonight. RJ and Rosie will be handed over the beta titles, Leo will become my gamma, and Dame will become my delta. So that means my aunts Jenna, Jackie, and Liz will be crying right along with mama. "Time to get in your position boys." Uncle James said, patting RJ and me on the shoulder. "Rosie, you had better go to where the bridal party is since you are the matron of honor." "Show time." RJ patted my back. He was so much like his dad. I don't know how my aunt Jenna hasn't gone insane. Well ... she is kinda already insane in her own way. The stories I have heard over the years. I chuckle to myself thinking of it. I glanced at RJ to see him giving me a look like 'you ok?'. I just smiled. We got into our places and the last of the guests were taking their seats. Garrick joined us. He is going to officiate our wedding and the changing-over ceremony. ... After The Wedding ... I was enjoying the party after the wedding and ceremony when I looked for mama only to notice that she had left. I walked over to aunt Jenna, she was talking to aunt Jackie and Gammy about Beth's dress. I'm still reeling and can't believe all in one night, I got married, became a husband, and took over one of the largest packs in the world, becoming a powerful Alpha from a long legacy line. I stopped on my way over to them. "You will be ok. I will see you soon. I love you so much." I heard a faint, distant voice. It sounded like my mother's voice. Was she crying? I rushed over to my aunts and Gammy. "Where's mom?" I said with panic, looking at each of them. I could feel my wolf trying to come out. He was ready to shift to sniff her out. Gammy jumped up from her seat and rushed to me. "What's wrong, Alex?" Gammy grabbed my shoulders. "I don't see her. I'll go ask Thomas." Aunt Jenna said, looking around the room. She spotted my dad and took off to him. Gammy grabbed my face and made me look right at her. I could see something in her calm face that made me think she knew something. "You need to calm yourself, boy. You have powers brewing in you that you haven't learned to control yet." She was strict and powerful. I closed my eyes and took deep breaths. I knew she was right. I had powers of my own but never practiced magic. When I opened my eyes, I looked where my dad and Jenna were only to realize all of our parents were gone. "You stay put. Your mother made up her mind a long time ago about what she wanted to do. You can't go messing with Fate's Design." Gammy said sweetly. "Be a good boy and enjoy your party." Did Gammy know something nobody else seemed to know? I looked over at Beth chatting with her friends and couldn't help but smile. At that instant, she looked at me and noticed my stance and appearance. She came to comfort me. Being a witch, she doesn't feel the bond the same as werewolves do, but she knows enough after growing up with us. The wolf in us senses emotional changes. Beth, being raised with us and being my girlfriend for so long, already knew when I needed her. "Alex?" She looked into my eyes. "Why are your eyes flickering? What's wrong?" "Nothing for us to worry about now, baby. Let's enjoy our night." I smiled the best fake smile I could. "I'm just super excited we're finally married." Thankfully, she didn't press the issue. I led her back to her friends. I was fighting this powerful urge to go find my mother. I was fighting my wolf to go find his mother. Plus, being the son of a witch/goddess means those powers are in me too. My body was a battlefield and I was my own worst enemy when trying to keep my emotions under control.
