Prologue Jemimah couldn't see anything except blurs. Nearby a solemn voice said, “Why do you weep my dear?” Just that question and she could no longer hold back the sobs in her chest. An old man in black robes furrowed his brows. Outside the glass windows, the setting sun glinted on a cross hung around his neck. “F…father...” the words refused to come afterall what do you say when your husband to be didn't show up. On the day that should be the happiest of a bride's life. She always knew it. Forcing the tears back, stung her eyes. It's all because she'd never be good enough for anyone. Picking up her heavy white trail Jemimah left the worried looking priest behind. Steadying herself, she held the wall as she went. Right before her, the place that should have been the reception hall shimmered with classy decor, stocked full of drinks and pre-wedding photos of their smiling faces. The weight of inadequacy hit her. Richard Sliver II, the son of a reputable plantation owner could never marry a farm girl. Yet he proposed to her. Clutching a glass of champagne, Jemimah drank watching the sun go down. Watching the sunset together was a little ritual they kept. The memory stabbed in her gut. To numb the pain, Jemimah kept drinking till it grew dark. Now her head spun, a distraction from heartache. Jemimah went out for some air. Bumped into someone. With a teary smile, she clasped her hands as if in prayer to the stranger, “Will you marry me?” Chapter 1 Cozy and warm, Jemimah snuggled deeper, a strong arm snaked across her small waist. This dream felt so real, she smiled childishly and held the hand stroking the veins. Warm breath fanned the curve on her neck. Wait …how possible is it to simulate that? Before Jemimah could think it a dream, something of eye-widening length pressed into her bum. Grew thick. This isn't a dream! Now in panic mode she rolled away from the stranger. Lying beside her was a halo of red hair, chiseled jaw and bare jacked torso. Jemimah clutched the sheets to her racing heart. Why is he here? Instead of fleeing for her life, she continued watching him afterall he was asleep. This was….he was… Popularly known as The Red Prince…he was every girl's once in a lifetime dream. Ignacio Vilagos. Black lashes shut her out of a glimpse on what they held inside. Narrow nose edged downward to lips the enchanting shade of pomegranate. Jemimah must have gasped at the full force of his beauty because those eyes flitted open revealing the darkest she'd ever seen. Without thinking, Jemimah flung a pillow into his face. Dashed out of the bed but couldn't get far. A pair of hands held her waist pulling her into washboard abs. “Hey Wifey.”, his sleepy voice rasped sending chills down her body. Wife? Did I wake up in heaven? How…it's not possible. There's no way someone like him could ever — Her trail of thoughts disintegrated when something soft left a wet trail up her neck. Was he licking her!!! Jemimah brain turned to mush when he said, “You remind me of my favorite sweet things.” I do? What sweet things?, she almost asked. What the hell is actually going on! “Breathe wife. Regardless of what you’ve heard. I won't bite you...” Ignacio's lips left featherlight touches on her shoulder. “Yet,” he whispered in Jemimah's ears. Jemimah’s heart skipped a bit, her body grew hotter by the second. How did she end up in the arms of the top youngest billionaires in the world! And more importantly…he called her wife. How did she even meet Ignacio Vilagos? She cleared her throat to ask, “Ermm I think there's a mixup somewhere.” He flipped her around. Now facing him, a small sound left her lips. “Is there?” Ignacio brought her closer to his body sharing his heat. Only to cause butterflies to flap around in her tummy. Not trusting what could come out of her mouth, she nodded instead refusing to meet his gaze. At the force, her head hammered and she shut her eyes from the pain. Oh why did I drink so much yesterday? She wailed. Then she remembered Richard. Hot liquid spilled down her cheeks. “Hey! Did I do something wrong?” Alarmed at perhaps making her cry, Ignacio pulled her close, caressing her thick black hair. She shook her head, nose gliding against hard marble like skin. After a minute, he pulled back staring her in the eyes.“Did I make you cry Jemimah?” That question brought a heavier dam. His slender fingers wiped them away. “I know this is a lot to take in. But I promise, it's what you wanted too. I saw you at the court house and something thrummed in my chest. I couldn't take my eyes off you talk less of leaving you all alone. “ Ignacio's words halted as if letting her recall what fully happened. All she could remember was that Richard abandoned her for ten hours. Stupidly waiting for him to put his wedding ring on her finger. A hand brushed her jaw, reaching her face to look up at his. “You drank too much last night so it's not a surprise you don't recall.” “Here's what happened. I got stood up by my bride to be.” Ignacio shrugged as if it wasn't a big deal. She felt how painful that kind of rejection could be. “Ss-sory”, she croaked. His black eyes slanted into a smile. “Don’t be. That's how I met you.” “There you were dressed in white but two things made me freeze in my tracks.” Jemimah couldn't take her eyes off his gorgeous face, a beauty dot under his left eye making him irrevocably magnetic. His hands left her chin to wipe her cheeks. “One…you were crying. I hated it.” Cupping both her cheeks, he angled his head slowly as if giving her a chance to withdraw. An inch away from her lips, he said, “You asked me to marry you…” He pecked the side of her lips like you would a dainty lily. “And I said yes Jemimah.” He brought their lips together gently, a kiss of new found love and innocence. Jemimah's heart pounded, feet curling under the sheet. “Did I really?” Because her eyes were shut, she couldn't see him but felt his chuckle rumble. “Under the eyes of God and the law I am your husband.” How can a poor farm girl like Jemimah get accepted by a billionaire architect like Ignacio Vilagos?
