ETHAN'S POV
Sighing for the umpteenth time, I dipped my hand into my pocket and brought out my phone to call Elenett. There was no way in hell I'd believe no one was eavesdropping.
With the ledger missing, everyone was a suspect, even the least expected person. At this point in my life, trust was far from my heart.
Except Claire returns to me. She was the only one who could restore my trust in humanity and restore me back to how I was completely.
“Your highness,” Elenett's voice sounded through the phone.
“There's an issue,” I began, glancing around before whispering. “Someone might have heard my conversation with Nathan concerning the missing ledger and as much as we tried, we couldn't catch whoever it was.”
