Autumn’s POV
I was finally starting to enjoy the silence of my room when I heard the knock. At first, I thought it was one of the maids bringing food, but the sound was too heavy and uncertain, like whoever was knocking didn’t know if they had the right to.
I already knew before I opened the door. My chest tightened. I didn’t want to see them, but my curiosity betrayed me. I pulled the door open slowly, and just as I guessed, there they were. All three of them.
They were annoyingly standing in the hallway like guilty little boys caught stealing bread.
They weren’t dressed like the proud Alphas I always remembered. No. Their eyes were soft, their hands full, and for once, they looked smaller than me.
