“Passenger C289 to Asherway, please report to boarding gate 23 urgently.”
The intercom continues to announce. I check the time. I still have thirty minutes before my flight.
“Miss Lilian Reed ticket C289 to Asherway, please report to boarding gate 23 urgently.”
I jump to my feet and hurry to the gate. They have been announcing my ticket number all this time and I did not realise it. I was not even paying attention because it was not the time for me to board.
I am breathless by the time I reach the gate and find the hostess.
“I am so sorry. I did not realise you were calling me.”
“No problem, Miss. There has been a change on your flight. You are the only passenger and will be using a small aircraft,” she tells me, and I shrug before giving her my ticket and identity documents.
