"Found? What do you mean that Lohe found me?" I shouted—no, screamed, adrenaline slamming through my veins. Sander's head jerked side to side, his dark eyes slicing through the shadows like he expected my mate to lunge out of them.
"I had a delivery at the castle today," he whispered. "I was in the kitchen when two guards came in. One of them was stuffing food in his pocket, griping about another raid to catch the missing fugitive."
Someone moved in the distance. Sander shoved me hard against the palace wall, the shadows swallowing us whole. It was just a maid, rushing off to meet her boyfriend at the stables.
