This was another day,it had been three days since she met Daniel.There was no news from his side,she felt relieved and restless at the same time.
She went to her work.Somewhere in the afternoon the café door opened and entered the man wearing shades,he came to her and ordered that same Espresso.She tried to look professional all the time she was preparing coffee.He grabbed his cup and left.
Few days passed by and now this was a routine,he would come and go.She never dared to ask him about Daniel.
On the tenth day she directly joined the afternoon shift,she saw the Maybach.She rushed towards it.Seeing Daniel sitting inside she gently tapped on the glass window.
“Mr. Walt,I am really sorry for that day.I could not say a proper bye.”
Daniel smiled at her adorably.
“look Miss, I understand that you were in a hurry.I felt dejected that day”
“I am sorry for that day sir, My intentions were not bad at all.”
This brief encounter helped her regain her sanity.She could focus on her work now.
After that day it became a routine thing to meet him outside for a moment or two.
She learnt it over time that the man in shades was his head of security,Samuel.
They would talk about anything weather,economy,politics etc.She realized that talking to him was easy.at least easier than she thought.He was a man of few words.He would often visit her at the café and then they would spend time together.
She felt that she was coming at ease with him.They never talked about his personal life.She didn’t want to know anything.
She would meet Jonathan in between.His chatter would break the silence creeping into her life.Shyly she admitted to herself,she liked the calm and composed nature of Daniel.She loved the way he listened to her.There were so many things she liked about him.
She reluctantly agreed to meet John that day.She was waiting for him near his book store,
She saw him coming,he looked nervous today
“Hey John,all good?
“Amy I have something to tell you”
“go on”
“I want to marry you.”
She felt uncomfortable,angry even.
“I have only regarded you as a friend.I can’t think of anything other than that.”
“Just listen to me Amy.I think you are the kind of girl I have been looking for.You are simple,sober and we will be good together.
“But I told you I don’t like you that way>”
“Think Amy,You won’t be young forever plus you aren’t that pretty that you will be getting proposals”
She was stunned for a moment,this blow was below the belt.She sighed and said
“thanks for reminding me who I am.I would rather die alone than being with someone who has no sense.”
Saying this she ran away
