I sat down at the small round table in the corner at Terry’s coffee shop. It was by the window so that I could watch everyone going about with their lives. I loved to see other people’s routines and stories unfold in front of me. There was an old woman that walked past, hunched over with her walking stick. She was wearing a long flowery skirt with a white blouse pushing a bag on wheels behind her. She seemed so frail but also looked like the kind of woman who was not going to give up on life just yet. She stopped by the low wall and leant her stick against it to rummage in her bag. Her stick toppled over and fell onto the floor. She tried to bend down to get it but seemed to be struggling so I went to get up to help her. Before I could even lift my bum off of the seat I saw a familiar face
