The sound of the whip whistled through the air before the harsh sting arrived. Bound against the wall, Juno struggled not to show the pain that she felt. It had only been two hours into the interrogation and she was already starting to feel the stress. She was determined not to give in to Cleonae or betray Apollo at all. In reality, it would not bother her to give away the Romans’ defense preparations or military plans. What mattered to her was protecting Apollo from retribution or harm from monsters like Cleonae. Beyond just protecting Apollo, she wanted to prove to Cleonae that she could not be broken.
