As difficult as it is to sit here and listen to the absolute garbage coming out of Knox’s mouth, I force myself to do it anyway. He’d love me to lose control. Even with my chains still on, I could leap over the barrier surrounding the table and tackle him to the ground before any of his guards had a chance to stop me. Maybe I could even manage to get my hands around his throat. If luck were really on my side, I might even be able to kill him before help arrived.
Just a week ago, I would have taken the chance. My life had no meaning or purpose other than getting my revenge on Knox, so if I killed him and they killed me afterwards, so be it. I’d take the risk.
