Chapter 7

Kimberly: The minute I stepped in, Sonia's voice rang out,. questions flying into the air as she dragged my bag, her eyes snooping into see if I had anything suspicious in the bag. " I swear if you don't f*****g start talking! One minute you are cussing out Noah Russo, bat s**t drunk in the club, and the next thing you are at his game wearing his shirt and kissing him?! I swear you have so much explaining to do" I sighed under my breath, collapsing on my bed. The last thing I wanted was an interrogation session, my body already feeling like jelly as I watched her mouth move effortlessly with words and questions that just kept piling up. " Sonia maybe tomorrow. I have had a long day and I just want to sleep" I finally called out but she scoffed. She jumped on my bed, her legs on either side of my body as she knelt on my thighs, shaking me drastically until I opened my eyes to see her curious face. " I promise you won't be getting rest until I get some answers" she said. Sonia was my roommate and my best friend and I knew how persistent she could be. I gave her a nasty look but she just stuck out her tongue as though daring me. Urgh. " Fine. But if you start yelling or making a noise, I will quit the storytelling. Deal?" She clasped her hands around her mouth, shooting me the thumbs-up sign. I bit my lips before I started narrating my story. From the drunk night to the contract and then to the kiss. When I stopped, her eyes were already as wide as saucers and that squeal she was trying so hard to hold in finally found its way out. " Aghr! Do you have any idea what this means? You kissed the most kissable and fuckable man in this school. Oh God, I wish to exchange lips so I can feel how it felt! How was it?" I grimaced at her excitement but I could not help but smile as I remembered the kiss. It was electric, nothing like I had felt before. His lips were so luscious and those hands of his. I caught myself just in time before I slipped into a daydream that will be so hard to break out of. " It was a normal kiss. Averagents have been blowing up my phone all day but all I want to do is rest for now" I said, turning back into my bed. But that did not stop the already excited Sonia. " So that is it? When are you guys meeting again? What is happening next? Fill me innnn!" I turned again to stare at her, huffing. " Well, I have a party coming up with him on Saturday. His team won so it's sort of like a celebration and stuff. And don't get all excited, remember this is just a contract and I'm only his fake girlfriend and nothing else". She rolled her eyes. " Fake girlfriend or not. You will be all over THE Noah Russo. If that is not exciting I don't know what else is." I rolled my eyes for what felt like the umpteenth time. ~~ When Saturday night came, I was more than prepared but mentally, I was a mess. It was my first party with people in the hockey world and somehow, I did not know how to react. I stared at the thin strap of the burgundy gown, my hair let down and the dress accentuating my curves almost too perfectly. I adjusted the strap all over again. It was perfect. I looked perfect. My phone dinged as a text came in. " I'm downstairs" the text said softly. I scoffed. I could feel the coldness through the text. Did he really have to be so upright all the time? I adjusted my dress and hair again before grabbing my bag and rushing down to meet him. He stood out almost too well from the crowd, his fancy shiny car and his beautiful suit, and the girls around ogle at him and then shift their gaze to me in envy. He stepped forward, hands finding their way to my waist as he planted a soft kiss on my forehead. " Baby you look gorgeous" he said, eyes holding so much sincerity that if I did not know better, I would be tempted to think that he actually meant it. The eyes of the girls still burrowed jealously on my head as I passed them, walking towards the open car door and closing it shut. The moment those doors closed, he reverted to his old b***h attitude. " So there will be a few simple rules today" he said curtly. I sank slowly into his leather chair to show I was bored. " Of course" I said, the sarcasm dripping from my voice. He rolled his eyes, started the car, and pulled out of the driveway. " You are not allowed to drink, you are not allowed to leave my side, and most especially, keep your bratty attitude to yourself for the night". That was it. I had had enough already. " Just who the hell do you even think you are to be giving off so many rules? You think it's not bad enough to be stuck with you in this mess but now you have to rub it in?" " I'm not rubbing s**t in. You got yourself into this mess so don't blame that on me. Simple and short" Our bickering did not stop until we neared the party, the booming music enough to silence our argument and give me enough time to adjust my hair. As we went down, he ran his hands through his hair and reached out for my hand like he was a gentle man, that filial boyfriend role suiting him almost perfectly. Amidst the stiff smiles I gave the people that watched me, he bent down slowly to mutter into my ears, breath fanning my earlobes. " Drop your attitude and be at your best behaviour now."
